Lithium 300 or Wellbutin 300

One of these has me sick. Insurance wouldn't all the three 150mg pills of Wellbutrin and I can't remember what happened with th lithium.

Well I am nauseus, dizzy-off balance, and can hardly see with this dizzy blurred vision.

Has anyone else experienced this. AND on top of it all I still feel sad. cry

Have you contacted your doctor yet or did these effects just take place? I have never taken Wellbutrin or Lithium, but I would suggest taking it easy and not moving around a whole lot if you are feeling that nauseous and dizzy. Do you know why you're feeling down (aside from the nasty side effects)? It's terrible to feel physically sick on top of emotional stress. I hope the feelings subside soon for you.

I too hope that you feel better soon. Talk to your doc to see if this is normal. I would let them know what you are going through emmediately.

I sent an email last night. Ironically the office called me this morning to check on me. The dr is out of the country but still wanted to touch base. I love this dr. I told the receptionist what was going on, she called the dr and called me back with what to do within 30 min. She also said I might be getting a call from the dr. WHAT, she is out of the country.

This double vision is a drag. Afraid to drive and I'm ready for us to hit the streets while we are on vacation.

Lithium made me sick, nauseous, dizzy zombie like. I took welbutrin for so long I don't remember if I had trouble adjusting. Just my 2 cents!! Hope you get an answer soon...I thought they start just one new med at a time ??? You might have to drop one for a bit???

Hi Maggie,

I have been on both for a while, but she increased the dosage for bth. I think that was done at the same time. There have been several additions, deletions - its hard to keep up. All I know is that I wasn't sick before the last change. Ugh

It IS so hard to keep up isn't it? I can't even remember all the meds I've tried and failed at anymore-so frustrating. Increasing dosage even on one will bring temporary side effects. I do remember taking an extra welbutrin and being EXREMELY dizzy and blurred...I never did that again. I hope you figure it out soon...sounds like a great doc

She called. She says it is the lithium. I thought they were 300mg pills but that was the old ones. Theses are 600mg twice a day. She told me not to take anymore today or tomorrow and will call me back Friday. Out of the country and still calling her patients, how wonderful is that!!!!!

I didn't take the second pill. The nausea is better but the double vision I horrible. I was trying to drive around the corner to get something to eat. My son had to talk me through. It was really bad. I was so glad we made it home safely. I will be staying off the road until my eyes get better.

came across this thread and thought i'd share. i went through the exact same thing on the same medication combination. everyone's different of course, and our bodies are very individualistic about how they respond to things, but...

i was also on wellbutrin and lithium at the same time for about 3 months. the dizziness and vision issues were terrible. it was giving me mega-headaches, and i couldn't drive or read or look at my computer monitor. at first, my pdoc recommended i take fish oil daily for the eye problems, and it actually helped tremendously. i still take it. his thinking was that the meds were drying my eyes out severely, even though i was using eye drops, and making things worse. however, the dizziness (and some other symptoms) persisted. my lithium level at the time was below therapeutic level (i was at 450 mg a day), and we eventually figured out it was the wellbutrin. i stopped the wellbutrin, and the negative symptoms all vanished (well, besides the depression). later, my lithium levels were increased and i am on a different antidepressant, and doing well.

so in my experience, the wellbutrin was what caused the symptoms you are describing (although i'm sure accidentally doubling your lithium was very pertinent >.<).
