Hi, all thanks for your replies. Today I went to the community center and found some classes I can join, if I can get myself out the door. They have bingo every day. I've not ever played, but it seems like it would be light stressless fun and there would be no demands there. I can come when I feel like it even at the last min, so I'm giving that some thought.
Some days are pretty good for me physically and those days I keep busy so I don't get down. Today was a good day and I rearranged the living room 3xs in 1 day. (luckily everything was pretty light that I wanted to move. The heavy things like the TV are staying put). At least I didn't have time to think much, which was good so the time went fast and when I was finally done I was so tired I fell asleep for a few hours.
If it helps anyone else, one thing I do every night before going to bed, (to help my self have some drive to get my self up and out of bed and doing something the next morning, even if it is just around here,) is that each night before I go to bed I think of a few things I need to do the following day and I try to be sure I include some small things that will only take a short time and others that are bigger that will take longer. That way I can have some accomplishments to look back on that I achieved that day...and for me, feeling good about
something I've done that day is pretty important.
Karen, Joyce and Maggie, thank you for your encouragement and welcoming me here on this board.
bayoub2...I know what you mean about
the golden years...for the most part I think they flew by when I was not looking. I'm glad to read you don't feel as isolated.
PA_grandma , thanks for the reply. What I should have said is that I just wanted to chat with other women, not on any one subject. The subject of only taking about
depression can get depressing in it's self. So I was hoping to find other women just to talk to. BTW what part of PA so you live in?
Getting by, gardening is not something that holds much interest for me because of my allergies, but I do love to look at gardens and flowering plants, etc...and I love going to the gardening shows to see what some designer has come up with. As for the D3, yes I do take that but at times it's mostly the self imposed isolation that will get me down as well as some relationships that are not going well. As for the walking, yes that is something I will make myself do starting next week. I have a 45 acre park and large pond across the street. I already put up notes to myself in several places around my condo saying that I am going to make my life better. After I leave them up for a week, I'll change the wording to show a current state, not a future state. If you know hypnosis, you will know why I'm doing that.
Again all thanks for the encouragement Jannet
