The ironic thing is that I'm more depressed now that I know I'm starting to whole med process over again. sad   I really thought that I was going to be med free (lol...right).  Its been awhile since I have been on any meds at all and my doc put me on Wellbutrin SR (200 mg).  I guess if he feels I need it then so be it.  Its my third day on the med and I feel like I'm sleepwalking.  I'm not sleepy or anything but feel "high" I guess you could say.  Does anyone taking this med feel this effect?

Sorry Dbab,

I have tried going of my anti-d several times. I do fine for a while (month or two) . . but then I'm back on the emotional rollercoaster. I haven't had meds affect me like that . . . but I'm not taking that type anti-d. Do you still have the printout with the side affects listed? I hope you feel better in a day or two. Keep us posted.

I am on effexorXR. It is in the same class as wellbutrin and my head did the same thing when I first started. Give it a week or so and things should get better. I noticed after about the 5th day that the drunk feeling started to go away.

I think this dizzy and woozy feeling is a side effect of many antidepressants.

ZYprexa is doing that to me, but has almost subsided now thank goodness!!!

Dbab, I can get off meds and stay off, sometimes for months or even years.

But, eventually, its back to the meds again because the depression comes back with a vengance.

Makes me feel kind of like a failure or something. I know thats ailly ,but the feelings are still there.

I once thought the problem was that I didn't have the proper coping skills.

Now I just don't know what to do to stay off the meds But lets be thankful we have them!!

Thanks for the replies... I have read the side effects and they all basically say the same thing for all anti-d's. I have been on Prozac, Celexa, Paxil, and the most recent Zoloft (started meds 11 years ago). The only meds out of the previous mentioned that didn't have bad effects on me were Prozac and Zoloft. The other two you can forget it. Don't ever want to touch those again. I know by now that there will never be a med free time for me, I was just being silly.

I know that many of them have some effects in the first days or so but I wasn't sure if those effects were long term. The effects of the Wellbutrin don't bother me all that much. As long as there isn't nausea, I can handle some short term effects.
