Medications and Doctors

I was feeling bad for myself this week, until I saw the news about the drought continuing in the west. Poor farmers!

Anyway, I met with my neurologist, phsyciatrist and primary doctors over the past 2 weeks. Finally, after 5 months I have convinced them that my Phsyc meds are interfering with my blood pressure medication. I have been having VERY long BP 90/85 or lower. Fatigue etc... depression increases etc.. inpatient stay happened due to this. So we finally all, got on the same page; dare I say it out load!

I am off the BP meds and reduced on 2 other meds that affect the BP. One med increased to balance. Wew!

Never, Never, Never, give up! It may take time and heartache, and tears, lots of tears. It can be done and eventually you can find a doctor that will listen to your other doctors. I find a new neurologist. You HAVE to be your own advocate and be persistant. It is not easy, overwhelming to think about, I know. I cried just making the appointments. However, you have to do it! Or the change you want most likely will not happen.

thank you so much for sharing, i do feel overwhelmed with the appointments and paperwork that needs to be filled out... but you are right, if i want to feel better, i'm going to have to move through fear and take the lead.

You are right, it is so important to advocate for yourself. If one dr. can't help then you have to find one that will. I am glad you are feeling better. You are very brave and very strong.
