Difficult to get up out of bed this morning. Went to work becasue it is a better alternative to staying home. Could cry all day!

I'm sorry to hear that Randy. I understand when you say that going to work is a better alternative to staying at home. That is mostly the reason why I do work. Something to keep my mind on so I am not "thinking" too much if you know what I mean.
I hope you are feeling better soon. You're in my prayers.

Hi Cheerdad
Sorry you're feeling so low. Have a cyber hug - all we can offer! We all know what you're going thro and if it helps the wise words I've had from you have been a lifeline - so you're important to me and others.
Hang in there - will check on you tommorrow - for as Scarlett said ' it is another day'
Luv and hugs

There is always a positive side and I will kneel down tonight and ask God to help me remember all that is good about today. Just being able to come here and say it's been a difficult day is a positive thing I will have to thank God for.

Just noticed how ironic it is to have a screen name of CheerDad while moderating the depression community. Guess I had better work harder on the Cheer part. LOL!

i have those days too. but i think it's my medication that makes me feel that way, because im on my 10th day or lexapro and it has made me really tired. all you gotta do is just make yourself do stuff. i didn't feel like doing anything yesterday, but still went to 3 different places to plan my wedding, went out to lunch and went on a hour long bike ride. if you don't give in, you will win. i know it's easier said then done, but it is true.

Hi Cheerdad
Hope you're feeling a bit more 'up'. I'm trying to appreciate the good days and simply survive the bad - so know where you are.
And to Sober - how do you do it? When I'm down it's all I can do to walk and breath at the same time - as for wedding planning - or worse still, bike riding, there's no chance! I wish I had your constitution and determination. I usually just climb into bed and pull the covers over my head until the worst passes.
Will keep you in my thoughts Cheerdad - hang in!
Luv and hugs

I actually have 2 daughters that do competitive cheer. 9 National Championships in the family from both of them. One is now coaching the youngest. I still chuckle that I have the name CheerDad on frequent this community.
Yes the sun is shining brighter today. Yes, the only way to be beaten by this and my chronic illness is to quit and let my depression and my Crohn's contol my life. I also realize that the changes Randy needs to make in his life need to be for me and not for anyone else. I will continue to work on me because it is the right thing to do not because I want my family to see how much better I am. Love to all for your kind words.

stumpy, i just make myself do it. all i am dealing with is depression, so if you realize that it is your brain that is doing it to you and not anything that is wrong with you, you will win. i know that the tiredness isn't me and that once i get out there the energy will come to me. i use to be like a lump on a log and never do anything so that is something i had to overcome. im sure nobody ever wants to go on bike rides or walks or to the gym, because it is so much easier to do nothing, but then i just remember how i feel afterwards. i have energy and am excited.

Hi Sober
Well you inspired me. Today I got home from work and went out and attacked our garden jungle with the strimmer! Only a short burst- but you are right - I feel I have achieved something not involving paperwork
Luv and hugs
