Hi all my long lost friends

greetings from the center of the storm.  Katie and I are staying with my stepdaughter in slidell la...we have kept power the whole time---so lucky.

My husband and the 2 dogs and cat stayed with the house which is built on stilts on the water.the house is 21 ft above sea level and water caqme up 12 feet, house shuddering and moaning with wind gusts, many small tornadoes, one got our shed, boat and jacuzzi...if thaqt is the worst we are so thankful....

I'm sorry I am not in touch but both home pcs are dead so thought I would let you know I am alright...cannot go home because there is still 8 feet of water on our road, hopefully tomorrow...we are homesick but alive

will update later...have been thinking of you all-do not worry, we are all fine, minus a few possessions!!!

You do not know me, however I was praying for you and the family and am glad to hear the good news. I am sure, Karen, PA, Jamie and the rest will be thrilled as well!

Thank you B I felt the prayers when I prayed....God bless...we are all fine if weary and less a few possessions...am praying for some less unfortunate, many roodtop rescues and a lake dam has breached..hope they get them all

I posted to you on the daily checkin thread. But I see you didn't get that far. I am so happy that you let us know what is going on. And happy that you are safe. I hope your hubby is doing okay being stuck at the house. He gets the whole house to himself. The creaking and groaning would scare me too.

AWTY here, but I was unable to sign in with my old password and user name, so had to re-registar. I logged on just to check on all my American friends after hearing and seeing how bad the hurricane was. Glad to know you are ok Maggie, I knew it was in your area. Karen, is our lil Ole Kitt anywhere near damaged areas?

No she isn't. Do you have her email address? You might want to write her as she is dealing with colon cancer right now. I don't know if I was suppose to tell anybody, but I am. I think you all would like to know what is going on with her. She is doing better, but may be in for a long fight. Like I say, slip her an email...

Thank you all my hw friends!!!!  We are home now-lots of mud (very stinky), Pat's truck was flooded, hope ins. will cover. Today is his b-day and Mon was KK's 16th!!!!

Been cleaning all day and am pooped but so happy to be home-thanks you for all the thoughts and prayers....our internet is off and on but will post when I can.

Miss being with you-will email when I catch up-we keep washing dogs and they go right back into stinky hurricane mud--aaarrrggghh!
