Hi Nicjordan,
It sounds like it could be a little of both. You are probably going through perimenopause, which to me is just the beginnings of an early menopause. I am 53 and have already gone through it. In my 30's I had my tubes done, and they punctured my uterus. I was in perimenopause for a long time. Hot flashes, night sweats, moodiness. Plus with the loss of your father (and I want to offer condolences on that), I am sure that is weighing on you too. That was only five months ago and it takes time to get through the loss. I am sure that you are hurting emotionally from this.
Do you see a doc, or go to counseling? Counseling would be a good place to start. Or talk to a gynocologist about maybe taking some hormone medication. Like I say, it sounds like a combination of a few things going on. ONe day at a time. Live in the moment. You will get there. Coming here is a start. It helps to talk to people who understand.
Keep posting, it helps.
Hugs, Karen
