My parents! Biggest surprise ever...

I did get to talk to a school counselor on last day before holiday
She told me to come back after holiday and we'll talk more because "our time was up" (after only 5 minutes of consultation mind you)
Although she was on her computer the entire time and completely unhelpful, I knew I could rely on her to call my parents after holiday and tell them she thinks I need professional help
So I left it at that

Not but 10 minutes ago I had a complete meltdown in front of my parents over nothing at all
They asked what was wrong... And I told them.
They're reaction was completely unexpected- turns out my dad suffered from depression as well and they're going to contact a therapist as soon as we get back to the states

Sorry for the long post! I feel hope now though.. Thank you all for every ounce of advice and encouragement

Wow, I think it's good you got that out and that your parents now know, so now your in being can get the true help and maybe your whole family can get into treatment as well. I sure hope this means a new andbetter beginning for you, one with a good future. Now you have something to look forward to. Very good, you have a lot of courage to have faced your parents, very good, you did awesome, and we ate all proud of you. Many well wishes and keep us posted as we docare.

That is wonderful news! Too bad about the councelor, but glad it all worked out in the end.

your parents sound like they will be very supportive and that will help you so much in your battle with depression!
