My nurse practitioner increased my cymbalta from 60mgs a day to 90mgs while its a small increase I was wondering if an increase in anxiety is normal while it kicks in. Ive only been on the extra 30mgs for about
a week. thanks

If it is side effect it is. It shouldn't last more than two weeks. Be patient... I hope that the cymbalta works for you. Do keep us posted as to how you are doing.

Also finally got my appointment with the pain clinic on the 23rd of this month looking forward to it but not. hope all have a good night talk soon.

Well, I feel ok, I have a lot of depression issues at the moment to deal with. It does make a positive difference in how I feel and handle my daily challanges. See my signature for diagnosis.
You are not being nosey. It is important that if the medication is working for you and you can work with the side effects that you stay with the med. I push the water to reduce the nausea, gingerale and mint tea.
Good luck with it.

If after a few weeks you are still not noticing any improvement ask your doctor for added medication. some people need "cocktails". I take many for pain and other issues. But for the depression, my doctor added Buspirone 15mg 3x's a day and it helped considerable with my panic attacks.
You most likely won't need anything that strong, point is to
open the conversation with the doctor.
Sorry hear you have to go through a seperation, best of luck with that.

Thanks. Husband was diagnosed with clinical depression today. I've been trying to tell him to get help for a while now and I feel like it's my fault some how. They gave him meds and are arranging counselling for him and down the road we can get some couple therapy. However I'm wondering if we still need the seperation which I think we do. I will and always have tried to encourage him and make him feel good about
himself I know he needs a professional. Hopefully once he feels better things may change but I can not change him I know. My stress levels are high need to go relax. Will post later as to how things are going.

That is great that your husband is getting help. Stop blaming yourself. You did what you could...
Know that things could get better now that he is under treatment. But take it one day at a time. Keep posting and know that we care...

not sure but I think that meds aren't really doing what they are suppose to but given that I'm still going through different emotions about
the recent separation between me and spouse I've got to give it more time I guess. I have an appointment with the nurse on the 19th will explain things and see what she says. I am not complaining but the emotions I have gone through lately prob makes sense that the meds haven't had a chance to really work right I guess. Seems logical anyway any input would be welcomed. Hope all have a good day talk soon

Thanks for posting.
I forgot how long you have been on your increase of meds. If in a month, you aren't feeling better, I would ask for a change... There are so many out there that you can try...
Getting through depression and feeling better does take time, try to be patient. I hope that your appointment on the 19th goes well. Keep us posted.

Twiggy,
The meds may or may not have had a chance to come to their full capicity as of yet.
However, medicines only do so much for our depression and then it is up to us to complete the rest with skills and will power.
This very hard to do in the beginning especially with things like major life changes as a seperation. As Karen says, be patient with yourself try to keep self-love in mind.
Look at the resources at the top of the depression thread, some have been added for DBT skills and other skill to help.
Stay strong.
Peace

Welcome Twig
As Trina said, unfortunately we cannot take a pill and get better. My 7 yr struggle has been the hardest thingI've done. Treating depression will be a "package" deal. Most of us do counseling and meds. But really your treatment begins and ends with you. Some believe in natural supplements/diet, some meditation, exercise, not isolating your self. Depressionencompasses every system and a happy balance is acheivable but may take longer than we want.
Best of luck

Twiggy- have you found relief yet with med increase/different med? I'm in a similar boat. Upped Cymbalta to 90mg 6 days ago. Haven't noticed a significant improvement yet. I don't know how long it's supposed to take to notice improvement. This is the first time I've experienced a med change and in my past, when I went on Cymbalta 6 yrs ago, it worked beautifully. So this in between waiting does nothing for my mood or nerves!
Thanks for replies!!!
Lisa
