Don't know what to do about ex...

I would walk away. It is her brother, and your EX... You are not obligated to give him any support or a good life. If she keeps enabling him, let her deal with it. This is her job, not yours.

I hope you can get on with your life, and do what you need to do.

Deb, Ofourse you do care about his well being and the lifestyle he now has. But he is your ex. You have to let go. It isn't your responsibilty anymore. He knows help is out there. And his sister is enableing him. If you have reported it, that is all you can do. It's out of your hands. Let it go, which is easier said than done. He does need help. That much is obvious. But you can't make him do anything he isn't willing to do.

   I am sorry to hear about your son. Is he with you now? I do hope he is able to get on his feet soon. Sure that is hard on you.

    Try to have a good day. I do hope things get better. It's hard not to worry and be concerned about people care about and their situation. But there is only so much you can do.

Nothing has changed with the ex husband. He still hasn't bathed. I have put a deposit down on a new place, so I will not be living her after June 1st. I decided to take the advice to concentrate on my son and his situation is grim. he admitted that he did 8 grams of heroin in 2 days. I have been trying to help him as I am a recovering addict, but I am too close and am in need of a meeting just to cope with him. I am so scared that he will die at his own hand. He keeps saying he doesn't care to live anymore. Should I call 9ll on him. He has been in prison twice and if I call the authorities on him it will look like I am a turncoat. I had it with my ex and my son and my daughter has issues to. I can't help but think my children are messed up because of us(my ex and me) they are 28 and 26 years old, but the drugs have made them stop maturing emotionally. I'm fed up, but I will not give up.

Well, it was a good meeting about steps one and two. Admitting and accepting that we are addicts. My son has a very difficult time expressing his feelings and thoughts, due in part I'm sure to his heroin use. I am trying to take things one day at a time, but in this day and age it is hard. My son seems eager in the sense that, because he is an addict, he thinks this disease will go away immediately. He doesn't realize that this will be a life long struggle. Anyway he just needs to go to meeting after meeting. They say that which doesn't kill you makes you stronger, but I wish I would have listened to my addiction ologist and not tried to be my sons support. I'm in recovery and helping him is taking a lot out of me, but I love him and I will not give in to this disease. By the way, I don't know how one gets on the TV show Intervention, but my son died last summer as a result of heroin use. I explained this to them and they haven't responded. Does anyone know how to reach that son and Mother team of Brandon and Debbie who help families with addicts. I thought I might try them.
