escitalopram 5 to 10 mgs wanna stop benzo

I just increased my escitalopram from 5 to 10 last night. Felt so so this morning until I took a .5 klonopin and then felt a little down.. Took 1 mg of ativan for a month and have been on klonopin for a week and a half. Was thinking of stopping it, but worried about withdrawal's.

Any input

Talk to your doctor about what side effects to expect. You seem to be sensitive to drugs leaving your system. I would be very careful.

I take .5 in the morning and at night. My other half suggested taking my dose tonight and skipping the one in the morning to see how I felt?!?

Skipped the one this morning.. Still feel the depression some, but I feel a little on edge and have that stingy/sunburn feeling... Think its my nerves. I get a zap of it when I wake up to n the morning. Just want to not be depressed and anxious. Been on escitalopram 5mg for 19 days and 10 for 2 days.

Want to be,

I can only continue to warn you about the side effects and possible dangers (seizures, blood pressure drop/rise) of messing with your meds without a doctor knowing and agreeing with what you are doing.

I understand your lack of trust in your doc at this point, due to the ER visit, however what you are doing can be risky to say the least. At the very least I would suggest you call the pharmacy and talk with the pharmacist about your changes.

I have to reinforce what Trina said about your medications. You should always let the doctor know what you are doing. And listen to the doctor's instructions and advice. Please be careful.

As I understand klonopin is for anxiety.  You may need this medication to relieve anxiety.

I guess I just figured since I have only been on it 11 days that it would effect me to much. I'm so scared of being addicted to something.. Little on something that brings out more depression.
My nights are usually good, not tonight though.

Sounds like you are more anxious over your meds than depressed over them.

Have you explained all this to the doctor and/or your therapist? I also am afraid of addiction due to a "label" someone put on me. But I am working through that, still taking my medications.

Most of these mediciations are not "addictive" in the sense of narcotics.

I feel better when I am on my meds. consistantly.

Ya they know and my Dr says I won't become dependant on klonopin in 1 month. But I was on ativan for 3 weeks which is also a benzo. I've read what the withdrawals etc are and its scary.
