Ever see a dog pacing ... back and forth ... until you get up in the morning?

   Yep - that's what Gizzy's doing now. He could have woken me, but he just paced ... and paced ... a little howl ... then paced again. I was half awake and caught it with one eye open. Went on for about an hour maybe. Then I just hugged him with both eyes open. OMG ... the howling was non-stop!

   What a character!!!!!!!

   Our morning drive, a little late, was uneventful ... one dead skunk - phew!!! And then when pulling back into the driveway, the new neighborhood Lab pup. He's sleeping now .......... what!!!!!!!

   Hope everyone has a good day ... and the weather is kind!

G'morning all!

Tropical storm fizzled out in the Gulf, so we are releived this am. If we are going to flood, we go thru routine of moving all, vehicles, boats, freezer, tools upstairs to our deck. The house is 26 feet above sea level. It is alot of hard work. Another storm by Africa, so may as well start now, eh?

Nausea from Cymbalta is a tiny bit better. Lots of 'naners and club soda...I never knew caffeine was so hard on our stomachs. Thanks for all the replies.

Jams-I know how you feel, having to give up volunteering. I heard of a program here where they taught kids w/ disabilities to ride horses. How perfect-animals and kids!!! But I could not do the stall mucking and hard labor to take care of those beautiful creatures. Maybe one day.....for ALL of us

Hi everyone!

I worked yesterday and today. I officially start back Monday. Looking forward to the routine and fall weather. Although we really don't get fall in Texas.

Mags- such good news about that storm in the gulf. When the last hurricane hit here, we stayed. I'll never stay again.

Karen, Trina, Lisa- I hope you've had a great day.
Jamie- I hope you had a restful sleep!

Good morning all ...........

   Another bright and sunny day out ..... a late drive this morning, but Giz had a good one. He saw two new canine rugruts being walked on the way to pick-up some coffee. And on the return trip, he saw the two Great Pyranese again. This time, one of them heard Gizzy howling. Maybe sometime, he'll meet 'em on a lead walking. That should be fun!

Good Morning Everyone,

Seems like I've missed a lot...
We've been making a lot of changes at work. It's good but frustrating at the same time.
My dad got the Stent Wednesday. They placed one. They wanted to do another but it's too risky. They need a team of surgeons on stand by in case anything happens and they have to open him. My dad asked them no to bother about that one. He's fed-up and just wants to come home. They need to observe him over the weekend so hoping he'll be out early next week.

We got our car hit yesterday. My mother was driving alone one her way to pick me up and head up to the hospital. Another vehicle dashed out a side street and hit the back. No one was injured. The guy driving was only 19 and the vehicle he was driving is only insured for 25 and over. His dad contacted us and they're going to fix it on the own. So thank God that's settled.

Been struggling a bit with depression and everything happening all at once, but hanging in there.

Gizzy: Hope you and Gizzy and a good walk.
Mags: Hope you're doing okay. I'm glad the storm is dying away.

It is still morning so I can say Good morning All!!

It is sunny here today so that is nice. I went for a walk with Jasmine and my girlfriend today. It was really nice....

I didn't eat breakfast (I know, bad move) so I am starving after the walk. So I think I am going to fix a sandwich for lunch.

A special pee test Monday, renal ultrasound tues and cystocopy on wed, glass doc on fri-all 45 minutes away-arrrggghhh! But hopefully will have some answers.

New storm Erin out there...I hope, Michele, that we both dodge that one and others in the pipeline!

Hope y'all up North are getting nice weather-it is only in the 80s here-almost nice.

Well, I'm going to feed my plant babies.

hi gang. had another nightmare last night. severe nightmare. extremely windy here. been causing havoc across the state, luckily i walked buttons early before the winds picked up. yeah had a rough night. been taking it easy today, well for awhile anyway. have done most of the mundane things but i still have a lot to do. tomorrow i guess. i have to go out in this weather tomorrow to get some diabetic supplies. booo!! maybe i can score a lift. we'll see. just thought i would say hi. have a nice day my hw buddies.

Good morning all .... what's left of it ..............

   It was a BONANZA morning for Gizzy ... the best ever!!! We got a late start, so the morning drive was 8:30am to 9:00am this time.Yowsa ....... 7-dogs spotted and Giz saw them all ..... what a happy camper this morning!!!

   All 7 were new ones with the feature dogs - a pair of greyhounds playing in their own fenced yard ... darn ... wish we had a yard! All the usual dogs must have already been walked earlier.

It's yet another bright and sunny day today ... not humid and close to 70 degrees at 8:30am. I feel for jamiee ... south of the equator. And I know two of you are in the gulf ... lived in the gulf for 9-years myself - know what that's like. If I remember right, it's still close to 3-months before the end of the hurricane season. Hope it's not too humid! For all others, hope today the weather is gentle and kind!

hi guys, i send healing compassion to all. had another very rough night. posted info on my other thread. i finally walked buttons and we got soaked, i called her back to come inside but she was adement to go thus she got soaked as well. she didn't like the towel to dry her of. as i said in my other post i am not doing the best. am trying not to duplicate. have a good morning / afternoon / night.

Hang in there Jamie!

Mags, on the cymbalta; are you eating when you take the medication, even just toast or a yogurt? drink lots of water. Yes, the coffee does get rough on the tummy now. I put cream in and it helps but still down to 1-2 cups a day only. Most drink just water or gingerale. Club soda is a good idea!

Good morning all .....

   Gizzy got so lucky yesterday morning, he didn't seem to mind seeing no dogs this morning ... until we were within a mile from home. Then the constant howling started - and a little crying. He sounded a little like some of the wolves on the Geo channel last night.

Morning All-

Now today I AM up way too early- 3:45 was when my eyes popped open and wouldn't go back to sleep. First day back was very productive. Today is just a lot of meetings- fun stuff! Going back to work is going to give me the structure I need to help my depression. It won't cure it but on most days, it helps it.

Good morning everyone .....

   What a wonderful day in the neighborhood ..... as Mr. Rogers might have said. Remember him? He drove me nuts listening to him getting ready for work while my daughter was watching him! Now, I wish I had those days back every so often. For those of you with adult children, you know what I mean!!!!

   The weather ... again ... it just ain't supposed to be this way around Chicago is bright and sunny, low humidity again with light winds - although it is supposed to get up to the mid 80's today.

   This mornings ride was quiet. Gizzy was a quiet little gentleman. about 100 feet from out driveway, the neighborhood lab puppy was coming back from its walk ... so Giz let'em know "welcome to the neighborhood" ... and not like Mr. Rogers would have!

Have a joyous day .... re-focus if troubled .... have some fun too!

I just have a small rant. My desktop computer keeps shutting off. I have to call the company ad have all the bugs gotten rid of. It just takes a long time and I have to be there when they do it. I need to get another one, but this one isn't very old and I keep getting infections and viruses.

I am on my laptop which I don't like, it is hard to work on. But it will do.

I found out, or recently realized that my best friend is (taking advantage of my generosity) using me. It is up to me, I know, to not let this continue. But it just bothers me. It hurts in lots of ways, I will get over it, I will eventually learn. And I will eventually stop it from happening. But it is hard to trust people anymore, and I am sure you all know how it feels to be taken advantage of and lied to.

Man, I feel better already. Thank you all for letting me vent. My day will be better now. I am sure... It is beautiful out. Sunny. Kind of warm.

I see the diabetic dietician tomorrow and I am excited about that. I hope it goes well and that I learn a lot. I have been working on my diet, have been waiting for this dietician for over a month. I had to get ahold of my old nurse to get this done. I don't know why the new one didn't do it, I called her twice. No call back. Either way it is on for tomorrow. I also found out I am prediabetic, not diabetic. Which isn't far off and I am going to treat it like it is diabetic.

Another rant, now I really feel a lot better. I guess some things that we want done, we have to take it on ourselves to make sure that they get done. Kudos for me!!!

To all-waaaay scattered this am so will not name everyone, but best wishes for a great day at work, riding with your pooch etc.

Went for one test yesterday, kidney scan today (chugging water Trina!) and cystoscopy (yuck) tomorrow. I hope thye find SOMETHING and that it's easy to fix!!!

Just wanted to poke my head in for a sec!

PS Trina-I NEVER take meds anymore without food-but thanx for the tip. I learned the hard way with welbutrin years ago. Love ya!
