Hi Ya'll,

Hey Patrick, I try to be upbeat as much as possible. I find if I act happy, I actually am happy. I have wonderful combo of meds for me though and that really helps. But I have had my share of bad days when I was younger. Didn't always handle things the way I could have. And I found out I didn't need to be pissed off at the world or myself no matter what happens. They say, it isn't the problem, but how we cope. Should I go around being mad or sad? Hell no, life it too short. And I find that older I get, the faster it goes. And we only go around one time... So why be angry, sad, or mad when you can be happy?

But like I say, I am not always happy. But most of the time, yea...

I hope that you too can be happy. And you don't have to be feeling great to post on this thread. If you have a problem share it. A problem shared is a problem halved (I don't know how I keep coming up with these sayings). It helps to talk it out, and everybody here is so compassionate.

We aren't faking it, though. We all have come a long way getting to where we are. It has been hard work. You are on a healing journey too I am sure. But not everyday is good, I think you have to have some bad to appreciate the good. But the bad doesn't have to last forever.

For me, it's really minute-by-minute, and some "moments" are better than others and so the day goes ..... I come here when I need to as I always know there will be someone I can connect with here that will help me with my social isolation.
I guess for me that's what it really is . . . I feel lonely, and friend-less. Sometimes it can be overwhelming.

It's not the emotions, really, it is how you choose to react to them. For me, there is only so much I can wallow.

Yeah, I am psyched about subbing. A little money and some positive reinforcement. If there's anything I can do, it is manage a classroom.

The new therapist seems cool. Less zen than my Charles, but much more demanding, too.

Today, we are going hiking, and enjoying the last clear day before the remnants of Karen descends.

Federal lockdown continues into it's second week. BF is getting more and more keyed up, spending hours on Washington Post and New York Times.

Good morning all .................

   It's gettin cooler dese days .... 48 degrees at 7:30am ... but bright and sunny! Just keep the gloomy stuff away as long as possible.

   They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks! I think that applies to the two-legged variety too. On todays drive, I saw us approaching those two big Pyranees. This time I said nothing!!! Gizzy saw 'em .... watched like a eagle ... and just cried a little. No howl and thank God no screeching bark!

   Ah ha ......... I remembered one of those old Dog Whisperer programs and sure enough ... it worked. Without realizing it, I was exciting Gizzy more by saying "here they come" or "oh-oh"! He understood that meant it's time to go crazy!!! Thank you Cesar! I finally understand!

   A special note for Patrick.

I understand loneliness all too well. I was married for over 20-years and have now been divorced for 20-years. I had two serious relationships in the past 20-years, but neither of them "live-in arrangements". Both of them disappeared. The last one, close to 7-years long, walked on me after my cancer returned. Karen made a reference about "appreciating the good". I think that is so important. We are all on a learning journey.

   Hope your learning journey is filling with many good things.

I know I get Jasmine worked up just by being nervous. They pick up on our energy so much. She seems to act up more when I am anticipating something. Like me leaving the house. She seems to know it before I even start. So I know it is my energy that is talking to her. They are so perceptive. No matter how I try to be discrete about leaving or whatever I am doing, she still picks up on it and gets all hyper. Oh well, I get through it and so does she. If I am just going outside, she howls the whole time I am out there, but if she sees me leave in the truck she calms down. I only know this because my husband says, maybe she is the reason she calms down.

I am glad you have nice weather, it is gorgeous here already. I am going to walk today. Waiting for my hair to dry as I just took my shower. Then off we go...

We are overcast, but it ought to be a nice walk in the woods. I will need my painkillers when I get back.

Years ago, I was napping on the couch one night, and the TV came on by itself, very loudly.

Both of my cats, who had been napping next to me, were on the floor, with the remote between them, tails bristled, backs arched, looking as surprised as I was.

The remote had been on the couch. The only thing I can figure is they somehow put a paw on the power button, and then knocked the remote off onto the floor, which hit on the volume button, which turned it up.

I still laugh when I think of it.

Persistance pays ...... sometimes:

   I've been on a "call-list" for my psychologist since he's so busy. And it's worked the last two times .... cancellations .... yay!!!

   It's hardly ever convenient, but if you can do a fill-in for a cancellation, that's a mighty cool way of getting in to see the "man" as soon as possible. Just got a call for a cancellation for next Monday at noon ........ yep ... you got it!

   We last left off at a very important point last Monday ... family matters ... really important ones ... some that have been floating around for over 15-years. Thank you Lord. I needed this!

   I've read a couple of people having hard times getting in to see their "man" (of course or woman). It is frustrating. It can create anxiety. Try it if you can and if it's available.

Good story.

It does happen. Gizzy does that to me all the time. Last night, early, I came back from the bathroom. When I left, I was on channel 31 (USA). When I got back I was on channel 726 (????)! Yikes! Hope it wasn't a ****o channel!

Gotta watch that dog closer!

   If you get TCM, watch out for the next time they show the musical "South Pacific"! Rumor has it ..... the reason why Mario Lanza always has a smile on his face is because of his "Bali HIGH"! Apparently Bali is fairly well-known for it's medical Kopi Luwak!

Good morning everyone! Nasty rain out today, so pumpkin spice coffee and buttered raisin toast inside with the dogs today. First time the heater was turned on this year too. Great timing the H/AC guy is coming to maintain the unit, annual check, this am.

   Blessed with yet another bright and sunny day today. I must have been transported to San Diego or something! Remember Data ... and his cat Spot!

   Geez ..... have one Belgian White ale last night ... and my focus is still scaterred!

   Gizzy and I had a good ride. No high-pitched barks ... and he saw 5 critters - all dogs! He's in for a big surprise over the next few days ... three big surprises actually ..... will post daily!

Trina .... the pumpkin spice coffee sounds good! Heavy rain doesn't!

Karen - the TS ...... hope you left Mags alone.

Karen - the young lady ..... are you part injun?

Me ..... I start a new support group this morning for those with reocurring cancer ... don't know what to expect - but givin it a try!

Actually Rob, I am mostly Finnish. But I do have a 32nd of Indian in me. But my skin is very white. I can't tan, burn really easy. So I am mostly Finn and Sweden. White as it gets. I love doing them because of the character, the lines and shading. They have a distinctive look and the older ones, I love to do the wrinkles. But I do mostly wolves and tigers, was just on a kick. This last one is awesome, I am really enjoying it.

It is beautiful here today. The sun is out, very few clouds, maybe Jasmine will go the whole walk today. She keeps wanting to go home about a third of the way. I don't know what is up with that... Dogs...

Raining here too, and we need it.

Scratch the fluffy ones for me.

At the library, getting ready to do some applications. Meeting with employment councilor next week, and doing my paperwork for subbing. BF is still out from his job, due to stupid congress. It's a mess, folks. Today, I set him some tasks and we will go to the gym together later. I am trying to get him to meditate, since he says he wants to, but he rarely does.

Sounds like you are right on the ball. That is cool. I hope that your boyfriend does do the meditation, it really helps me... Yes, stupid congress, really messing things up all the way around. I hope that this ends soon.

really tired now, 2-3 hours before 'usual' bedtime, but getting up early and finishing late is a long day :)

I had a really bad day today. I don't want to bum anyone out, but it's been unusually rough for me today. I'm trying to get a handle on things and feel better but this sinking feeling is a bit overwhelming today. Can you send me some Hugs and a few smiles ?

I Hope that your day gets better. Try to relax and breathe. In through the nose and out through the mouth. It helps take away any anxiety that we may have and relaxes us.

Sounds like you are having a few bumps in the road. I hope it gets better soon.
