WAAAAW I miss Karen!

Rob-thanks so much for yr advice...Katie going off to college-I am SO proud and so scared (for me, I think). She has been my life. I have started a small home business- pressed flower art and it is therapeutic, beautiful and hopefully make a few $ thru festivals and fairs. We have a huge flea market on the interstate and plan on renting a spot there. We were going to do etsy or icraft, but felt like we would get lost in the crowd-too big. AND photos are not coming out well. Hubby is doing some awesome sand cast candles with driftwood shells etc-very 60's.

Yeah I tried Chantix several years ago-bad juju...especially with my mental state and meds but will try again. E-cigs SUUCK. Am glad to hear that we can keep COPD at bay. Thanks for the help

Trina-sooo glad you got some good help-closing a house is so difficult. My BIL had a teeny 1 bedroom and it was an ordeal. My sympathies.

Often times we feel like we have been abandoned and find out we actually have not. I hope that is the case for you Michele, remember you got us.

I got my computer back today again. So far so good. It has been acting good today, but I don't trust it. So I post when I can...

One day at a time for all of us. That is all I can seem to come up with. Life is strange at times.

Good morning all ........

   Chi-town is in some kind of a warp right now ....... it was 63 degrees out at 7:30am ...... huh????

   It's gonna be a warm rainy day on the lakefront today ... probably windy too! Ravens vs. Bears in 3-1/2 hours ... likely to be a pretty ugly game today.

   Gizzy keeps thinking he's a lap-dog ... he had a good ride this morning with 4-dogs seen. In about 30-minutes, we're watching Dogs 101 .... one of the covered breeds this morning is a samoyed. He'll enjoy that!!!

   Note ......... I hadn't watched him in a long time, but I caught Joel Osteen this morning before our drive. It was a very appropriate sermon titled "You Can Do It"!

Mags ..... one more thing!

   I talked to my youngest daughter last night ... about Thanksgiving plans - and found out she was in St. Louis visiting a college friend for the week-end. She is a busy person ... but she has become such a responsible adult ... a good job in the area of her major (journalism) ... has tons of college friendships - never seems to burn a bridge ... and has repect for older adults - like grandma who's in a home for dementia.

   Amber is a by-product of a divorce ... and that was when she was only 4-years old. She has not only survived that ..... but she has risen above it. To used the word "pride" just isn't strong enough. Enjoy your daughter on her new adventure ... and try to give her a little latitude of learning on her own ... as long as she knows you're there for her ... if she needs it! ENJOY THE TRIP!

   Sorry to hear about your feelings of abandonment ... it sucks ... but isn't there a chance this is really a case of the self-centered syndrome from your family!  I see that so often with my family!!!!

-hugs- I am so sorry to hear of your current problems, Michelle. Sometimes, relationships and getting the help we need is so very hard. Have you talked with your husband about your adjustments to your treatment plan, and that you are really trying to make some changes?

Rob, hug your sammie for me. I think the Bears will massacre my Ravens. we have had some problems on both sides of the ball this year.

Several concerns this weekend. One-my old employer is back in the national news after their championship football game was cancelled, after several players savagely beat the opposing quarterback during a celebratory luncheon. A month ago, there was a knifing during an on-campus homecoming event. Lovely.... Is it any wonder why I left?

Secondly, lots of police cars in our apartment area this weekend. We live in the upstairs of a large house, which has a very small apartment complex behind it, owned by the same folks. For the past four days running, there has been a police presence here. Concerning.

Football and soup today. Already done laundry. Be well, chawl.

I'm sorry you are down too. I know the depression will lift again but I'm ready for it now!

I made the decision today to not worry about the threat of my husband leaving me. I'm doing everything I know to do to make myself better. If I knew how to make it go away oh my I would! But I don't. I'm just going to continue to work on me. I'll continue to take baby steps each day on my road to recovery. That's all I know to do. If it isn't enough for him then he doesn't need to be in my life.

JB, together we can make it through this valley and then we will start to climb the mountain. It's a big mountain but I know we can do it.

Good Evening Everyone,

It was warm and raining today. Rainy days are  always depressing for me.

Rob, Sammy feels Gizzy's pain. When we go out for our walks we pass other people walking their dogs and Sammy wants so badly to "talk" to the other dogs but he is met with snubs and growls, they don't want anything to do with poor Sammy.

   Well, it's 30 degrees cooler this morning than yesterday morning ... the cold front came in. And with vengeance!!!

   A couple of tornados in November is totally crazy around here ... and the Chicago area did not have one land closer than one of the south suburbs - Frankfort - maybe 40-miles from downtown Chicago. But a little town by the name of Washington - just East of Peoria and about 150-miles south was pretty much leveled.

   It's sunny though now, and it hasn't been for a few days - so that helps that Winter blahs!

   Gizzy had a good ride today - but the Border Collie across the street just totally ignored him. Giz just cried for his attention. Toby (the collie) just ignored him ... pooped, peed and went back inside!!!

   Karen ..... for whatever it's worth, my computers have been Dell over the past 20-years and they've been dependable. I had each one for 5 to 7-years with very little repair work. The weather here was very serious stuff potentially - Gizzy and I were lucky ... just very dark and brief but extreme rain - and winds to 50mph. No damage by us!

   Cat ....... sorry about that snubbing ... my "sammie" knows very well what that's like - not growling necessarily, but so much ignoring. The guy just wants to play - you know!!!!

   JB1 ....... do whatever you can to get out of that dark area. I hope a change in meds will help. Is a support group in the future a possibility? I started a couple of them a month ago, and it's really helpful to know that there are people you can talk to face-to-face who understand some of the pain and frustration.

   Myself ..... I told'ja it wuz gonna be a pretty ugly game. It was kind of an exclamation mark on the nickname "The Windy City"! My son-in-law was sitting in the stands for that one ....... yyyuck!!!!!

   Michele ....... I don't know what to say other than ... wishing you a very speedy improvement of your degree or state of depression.

   Hope everyone is OK - if not better. I have a special need or circumstance I need to talk about ... and will be back on this Daily Thread very shortly!

Hey Rob,

I am sorry for your situation. I too lost a lot of close relatives in a very short period of time. It was a little over whelming. I think you are accepting it though and that is good. As long as she goes comfortably. I guess we will all go through this at one time or another. Not fun to think about though.

Know we are all here for you through this difficult time. It is almost a relief when we know the suffering is over. Know you can email me anytime if you need to.

I have always had HP computers, but hubby wants me to get a dell this time. I probably will. This computer is being good at the moment. I put it on sleep now when I am not using it, I think it was over heating, and that helps.

I am sorry Gizmo got snubbed this morning. Sounds like a bummer when he wants so much to be friends. I am sure in time he will get a buddy to play with. He seems like such a good dog. Today it is very windy as it was all night. Jasmine will not go outside today. I have tried many times. Maybe after it gets dark, she doesn't seem so afraid then. We have a huge raccoon coming in the back yard. I hope it stops. We have a mulch pile and it wants to go through that and eat. I guess we will have to stop collecting mulch. Oh well.

I hope that your weather gets better as I do mine too. Take care. Tomorrow it is a trip to the psychologist. I hate that long drive. Especially when it is getting into winter.

Thanks for posting. I hope that you are having a good day too. This is my birthday month too. And one of my friends, we are two days apart. So the casino it may be... This weekend... We'll see. Don't know if I can afford to lose any money... And I will surely lose.

I hope you are having a good day too. It is cold, snowing and windy here. Bummer, but I better get use to it. Wouldn't be so bad if the sun was shining. But it isn't.
