When it rains

So for a few months now my husband and I have been separated. I've been struggling financially but felt that this was the path to find out what was best for the both of us. At first, he called and texted multiple times a day and would come by. He says he doesn't know what he wants. I'm afraid if I left it to him he'd just let this drag out forever.

I've taken some steps to become more independent. I've enrolled in the local university and gotten financial aide. My disability payments have been set up and I'm looking for a car in my price range. I feel hopeful and scared about all of this change.

My health hasn't been great. Right now I've got an awful kidney infection that I'm having to put off seeing the dr about until Thursday. My right knee has begun collapsing underneath me, making the stairs so hard to handle. The separation has caused me to lose my appetite and unable to sleep. My fibromyalgia has been in a flare for weeks.

Then to top it all of, I think I mentioned that my mom moved 8 hours away. She and my sister decided to do thanksgiving down there. There's no way I can do that. My finances won't stretch for that and I have to share that holiday with the kids' dad. So I'm going to be sad and lonely for a great part of this big family holiday. Newly separated and ill. Thanks for listening. I've felt so pent up because I don't have anyone to share my concerns and fears with.

I think I'm more disappointed that since my mom took off her family seems to have forgotten about me. I was always close to her twin sister. I did call her today and she invited the kids and me to her thanksgiving.

My sister lost her home yesterday. It was foreclosed on and they had 12 hours to vacate. I hate the situation for my niece and nephews but I feel like its karma for the horrible things my sister has said and done to me over the years. Last year I suffered a miscarriage and my sister said I deserved to lose that baby because I'm a bad mom. I know I should just cut her out but I just adore her kids.

I'm seeing a couple of specialists in the next few weeks. I'm hoping we can take care of my most major health issues. My rheumatologist has said that I have the joints of a 70 year old. Most drs say I'm too young for most treatments. I'm hoping this dr will understand that I need my mobility.

Thank you for listening. You both made me feel a lot better. As far as my husband goes, I'm going to put that on a back burner for now and focus on bettering my life and my kids' lives over the next few months. I will sit down and give him a time schedule but that can wait until the new year.

Thanksgiving with your kids and aunt sounds like a wonderful idea.  Just think how stressed and moody you would be if you had to have it with your mom and sister!  This is a good thing for you.

Also, I know you are so in the middle of dealing with everything right now, so you may not feel this way, but you are really doing a great job.  You are setting such a good and strong image for your kids with all your actions. 

Keep hanging in there.

just wanted to say your sister sux, surgically remove her from your life...the woman is pure poison. How DARE she?

Real family does not hurt...build a new family with your kids and friends...your family is pathological, very ill.

One day at a time AV. You can make new traditions for your kids. Create fond memories. It is sad that it isn't like it was for you, but that is life... Like I said, create your own traditions. You will be glad you did.

I hope nothing is wrong with your kidneys. Hang in there and keep taking it one day at a time.

I totally agree with JB... Work with what works for you. You don't need these other people in your life, too much negativity and drama. Keep it simple, you and the kids...
