I feel like I am loosing my husband because of adderall

Can anybody help! My husband takes adderal and we started fighting because he tuned me completely out.

He has got off adderal and is still acting so weird.  I have been married to him for 30 years and I feel like he is gone.

Please help

I have not ever heard of adderall doing this. Are you sure it isn't just your husband??? I take adderall and so does my husband. Neither of us have changed personalities. Just more energy and thinking clear.

What did your husband take it for? Energy or add??? Is it making him nervous? Maybe he didn't need the adderall.

I don't know what to tell you. Maybe you should talk to a doctor and ask??? I hope things get better soon.

Hi Karen, I take it too. He definitly has Adhd. At first he was fine, just like yall. Then he started just being tired and no personality. He looked terrible. It definitly changed his personality but the thing is he needs it bad. He got off of it because I told him how he was acting.
I am sure he will get better, but the med. did change on him.
I am usually on the Fibromyalgia, so adderall really helps me with energy!!
I just been trying to ask others what in the world was wrong with him.

Are you sure it is the adderall and not depression? Though I am not saying that the adderall didn't contribute... It has worked well for me with my fatigue with the fibromyalgia too. I am very sorry for this. I hope that he gets better soon.

I have no clue, or answers for you. Hopefully somebody else will. I am sorry that you are going through this. Maybe a different medication. Ritalin works good for adhd too. But it made me a little nervous. I couldn't sleep on it. I guess that this goes to show that meds work differently on people. Again, I am sorry. And I hope that things get better soon Marilyn...

Thanks Karen, you are a very sweet lady and I appreciate your mail. He does have depression (me too) but we take med. He is 54 so I wish I knew if men really go thur menapause. He is a VERY intense person. Lordy Lordy always has been.
He is exhausting, but that attracted me to him a longtime ago. LOL
The Ritalin is a good idea. I know that adderal has fast acting and then the time released ones. Hmmmm Seems like when he was on the fast acting one, he was way better. Got me thinking now.

Thats kinda scary. He has started kinda talking to me way different. Kinda like smart ass. LOL That's the first word that came to my mind. Sorry He is kinda out of it. It's like he has no emotions.
I am not sure of a regular Doctor understanding this. Hmmmm
He trys to interact but I can tell it's not real. I can tell it is so hard for him to understand anything deep. Like marriage and important things
He was raised to NOT ever talk about personal things. He will not go there. It's kinda sad for me because I have a lot of love to give and he can't react. We have been married 30 years. I hope the adderall didn't do some damage. Thank you for your thoughts and keep them coming because you have no idea how this is helping me. Is it menapause?

Yes, a check up is in order. I would talk to his doctor. Did he stop the adderall suddenly? If so, does the doctor know? It is not something you would want to stop suddenly if you have been taking it for a long period of time...

Forgive me, I am tired. It has been one of those days... I think Carl had some good ideas to help...
