Feeling down again

Hello everyone, have been posting in the chronic pain forum but thought I'd trundle over here and I already feel folks here will totally understand what I'm going through.

I have a major depressive disorder (starting showing at around age 19) I do feel so much of my life has revolved around trying to find the right med, being in severe, severe depressions and trying everything to get out of them, staying ok for a while then getting depressed again...it's a circle. Several times been suicidal.

Last year was in a pretty severe MVA and have severe neck/back, left arm/hand pain and now numbness in left foot and ankle after a cervical steroid injection last week, been through so much therapy (have herniated discs one pushing on a nerve) and now feel like I'm going down again, ugh....was suicidal last summer as I also suffered a severe concussion so if my brain was not already bad enough it is now!!

I'm on Wellbutrin which actually agrees with me and I was doing so well on it for a few years before this accident, after accident meds had to be increased.

I know this sad feeling is because of what I'm going through but oh it's so difficult isn't it! I just want to feel normal, the being messed around in the medical community doesn't help, and the driver of the vehicle who hit me is lying.

Just wanted to say hello, I know I must try to relax as if I'm over tired things are so much worse, sorry everyone is going through this but it does feel nice to know others completely understand :)

I have fibromyalgia, so I can sympathize with the chronic pain. It really gets us down. If you can distract yourself from the pain that would be awesome... I live with it everyday and I found distraction really helps. Plus pain pills....

We can't discuss suicide here so I can't reply to that.

It is a good thing you got that license plate... Can you still get the insurance to fix things? I hope that it all works out for the good...

Do you do any deep breathing to relax? It really does help to keep you in a tranquil state...

I would say that you should consult an attorney on this accident as that probably your best bet to get a resolution, an attorney can hire a private eye to track this person down for you. Just make sure not to get a scum lawyer...
In 1997 I was in a MVA and the person whom hit us got the tickets and we had witness for us and the next day after the accident, this person at fault called us to say they didn't know if their insurance was going to cover it, So I got an attorney and took 2 yrs but it got settled...This person failed to stop and failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign and hit the front end of our car as she was turning left into us.
however, since that car accident my life has become a nightmare...even at a slow 35 mph a car accident can have bad results. We got hit again in November 2014 rear ended in a 45 mph zone by a pickup truck the hit was above the bumper so the bumper didn't get much of the impact and my right knee hit the dash board...The Whole tailgate had to be replaced along with the bumper, car vs pickup truck pickup truck had slight damage ****...
Your accident was far worse, and I'm so very sorry your having to deal with the fallout of it...

Yes, there were 3 camera's at this particular intersection, I had such an awful concussion and was in a lot of pain so I didn't even think to have someone go back and look to see if there were any, the police officer did nothing about them so now it's too late.

My attorney doesn't seem too interested in the witness (?) and the actual driver also went missing (he fled to another State) but was found months later. My insurance co did fix my vehicle.

You are so right Chartreux, even going at 35 mph, a lot of damage can be done, I hope your knee is a lot better, sounds very painful. So sorry you are going through so much, it's truly awful and hope things work out for you.

I know having months of different kinds of therapy was eventually depressing and now I'm back in physical therapy again and the pain sometimes rules my life, I really try to think positive but some days it's hard, I just want to be healthy again, for me not being able to be active, run, hike etc is very hard and all I can think of the other driver is completely fine and trying to get out of what he did and here I am...ggrrr!!

Yes, I do the deep breathing and I read a lot, takes my mind off things.

I am glad that you were able to get your insurance company to pay for the damage. But I am sorry for what you are going through.

If you can, walk. Nothing with high impact. Just casually walk. This will help to satisfy your need to run and still help you to feel good. I find it makes my days seem much better.
