Depression

Thanks for tour reply. So nothing starts working immediately? Recently finished vitamin b1,b6,&b12 shots. Dr. Said it was good for energy(which was why I was taking) as well as depression. Gained a little energy but still depressed. Obviously was not the answer for me. Just really curious, been hurting for so long & too long!

Venlafaxine (generic Effexor) had an almost instantaneous effect on me: for about a week, my brain was buzzing in the daytime and I was nauseous/sick at night (I took the pill at night time - the nausea/vomiting was horrible, but didn't last for longer than about an hour), but I felt much better. But once I acclimatised to the side-effects, I also stopped feeling much better.

I took it for months at a time, so I gave it a proper go too. I have tried other ADs, but they were even worse. I just cannot see any AD ever working in the long term for me, but I hope you have more luck; many people do.

You either take them or you don't. If you have a chemical imbalance you need to take them always. You don't just stop them when you feel better. I did that one time, what a mistake.

Neither antidepressants nor opiates are easy to stop. Some ads are harder. I think you need to talk to you doc or a counselor about your concerns so they can explain things to you. It isn't cut and dry, there are a lot of variables in there.

Narcotics can make us depressed, so often we need antidepressants along with them. I know it's difficult. I take both.

Was supposed to see him this afternoon but daughter home from school. Changed appt. 'till tomorrow.

I have a chemical imbalance so have to always take meds, been on a lot of different AD's and Wellbutrin has been the best for me but everyone is so different.
