Good afternoon ....
I tried for 20-minutes to brush out Gizmo's rear, tail and rear legs. He was a stinker. He knew something was cooking - so he turned that into play and barking session. Even though he didn't look so good, I decided to take him over to Petsmart for 30-minutes or so.
The big boy, Igloo was there ... all 94-pounds of him. He actually didn't look so good. And then Lilly was there, a very old and very small 28-pound Samoyed. She looked great. Her master, Joyce, did one nice job of grooming on her. Lilly is quite old, doesn't have that much time left - so I think Joyce might be a good future home for Giz. And Joyce really likes him. Joyce and I with both dogs - worked a 3-hour fund-raiser together a little over a year ago.
Chart ..... thanks for the thoughts.
Michele .... sounds like a very good idea to talk to a Pulmonary doctor.
JB1 ...... Chicago proper or as defined by the city - is about 30-miles going North/South and over 15-miles going from the lake to the West. But ... when you include the 100+ suburbs, the Chicago area extends into 6-counties and should be over 80-miles N/S by over 40-miles from the lake to the West.
For years long ago, I fought the traffic going to Roosevelt University or Chicago Musical College within - in the Auditorium Building (an architetural classic). It was at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Congress - with the Buckingham Fountain right across the street. A very cool place - but so nasty to get to. I got my fill of either driving downtown or driving to Oak Park (of Wright fame) - then taking the "L" downtown - for years.
That's part of why I stay out of that area so much! If you were into historical buildings - check out the Auditorium Theatre built around the turn of the 19th century - proclaimed to be nearly acoustically perfect. It was completely renovated, including the original type of light bulbs, in the 60's/70's! I had the honor of graduating in the Auditorium Theatre. You could hear someone on stage talking - from the 6th floor seating.
NYC certainly has it's share - but Chicago is a terrific city for architecture. My sales pitch is over!!! Sorry!!!!
Karen ..... I'm not going to be burying myself in the corner. There is a support group (the good one) next Thursday - and Friday, I hope to go see some live music. And I should be getting a call from my daughter tonight - see if bought a cowgirl hat yet!
Notes:
I wish food tasted better. I went thru this two years ago and dropped so much weight, I looked like a walk-on from "The Living Dead"! Gonna pick-up some chicken wings!!!
Peace and wellness
Rob & Gizmo
