I went down to the river with a girlfriend for awhile today. It was breezy but it was hot. Not too bad though. It felt good to get out, as I don't go out often. I have been out a little bit, three days in a row. That is something for me...

Tiki torches, grass skirts, high heels, Bands, food, all sounds great. I can just picture us... I think it is going to be a fantastic time. My computer is messing up on the forum lately. The keys are pushed but sometimes nothing comes up. Working good now, but it just gave me fits for a minute there.

Merrida, I am so glad you are joining in. Maybe we will need more small tables. lol... For dancing...

I will not wear a grass skirt as my shoes are so hot that they would set it on fire. ha ha...

Rob, I think we have your humidity. We had some storms for most of the night and morning. I ran down to the store earlier and my glasses immediately fogged up when I stepped outside. The storms havr been very bad for my knees. They are swollen and that makes iy harder to put the kneecap back in place after it dislocates.

Karen, it sounds fun. I take the kids to the park a lot. They love it but we have to watch the heat. Cade has bad eczema and if he gets too hot it gets pretty bad. I've noticed that since I developed fibromyalgia I get hot very easily, do you have that issue?

The kids went to church with their dad's sister. She has them at Chuck E Cheese. They want to stay the night because she has a pool. Lol

I've spent today wrestlinh with a decision. I've found a good computer and its price is awesome. Its still priced at about half of my ssi. I asked the soon to be ex if he could loan me the money and let me make monthly payments. He said he foesnt have the money. I could buy it myself but its going to really strsin me for this month. I asked my mom about loaning me the money but she hasn't answered. I had been planning to take an online course this fall to test the waters. My laptop is dead and leaves me computerless. I hate spendin money. No matter what I buy I always feel bad for spending. Even if its groceries. Lol

   Yes AV ... steamy glasses! The past couple of mornings, I've noticed the bottom of the windshield is steaming up. Yep - inside AC vs. outside yuk!

   Karen ....... a swordless Zorro is not very cool. I sold both swords a couple of years ago on Ebay. I could bring my letter opener! And yes, it was a long, long time ago. Thanks for reminding me!

   HT ......... 14-days to double-decker buses!~!!!

   Michele ......... my last part-time partner - spent hours on a tanning bed - and excercised every night - BUT, she refused to wear shorts for me. How do you figure that one? Actually, I never saw her in a bathing suit either! No wonder, I'm so screwed up!!!!!

   AV ......... I don't even want to ask how do you put your kneecaps back in place! Oh Lord! Good luck on the possible computer!

   JB1 ......... Is it any better in the NY shade? Yesterday morning, I sat out under a tree with Giz - waiting for my daughter - and I was surprised to see how pleasant it was in the shade with a slightly cool wind. Later, I was in the garage for 15-minutes, and the stagnant air was terrible - hot 'n muggy! Amazing the difference made with the shade! And wind is one thing Chicago usually has plenty of!

Notes:

   There was a lot of rumbling last night. Gizmo was a basket case thru the night with all of the thunder. It looks like another 2 or 3-days of 90-degree humid weather here.

   UA ......... almost forgot - does the Calyso band have steel drums???? Sure hope so!

Hi All!

Wow Karen, down to the river and [you didn't] pray? LOL do you know that song?

Well, I can bring food and martini glasses to this party! Have plenty up in the attic! From plastic to Lennox. We used to drink them alot! Even have the shaker.

However, I can't dance. Stepped on one of the dogs bones last Friday. Thought I just bruised the arch. Well, pain worsen and Xrays. Nothing broken. Damaged the tendon, bulk bandage and soft foot cast thing with velcro and crutches! For 7 days!

Of course I have to go to center city this Thursday and walk 4 blocks to my neurologist which I can not cancel. Neighbor offered to take me, but 25.00 to park, plus she babysits young kids. It would be too much. Better I hobble.

So in my healing journey I am NOT past suffering pain, obviously my subconsous thinks I still deserve it. Bummer. Have to work on this.

Lookin like rain out ....... geez, haven't had rain for 5-hours!

Party questions::::

   Ya think the calypso band would be OK with playing on the roof? Ya know - those pool decks aren't very big! I wonder if Michele would be OK with them playing on the roof!!!!

   Oh yes - the U.S. lost to Germany 1-0 ... but advanced! Actually, I don't understand that! But, near the lakefront in Chicago, there were up to 40,000 people watching that game - out in the sun - on a jumbotron screen. So there are some followers of the sport here.

   Myself ....... no smokers allowed at the party!!! And unfortunately, I could write a book on bowel problems ... but it's not good reading material!

   Trina ........ can I please bring a camera? I can just picture you trying the "limbo" on crutches!

   AV ........... my maple tree gives a lot of shade by the front door and stoop - and the wind here usually keeps the mosquitos down except at dusk. Are you coming to the party?

   Michele .......... Zorro it is, but all I can find from a former halloween so far - is the black hat and cape. New Balance shoes wouldn't cut it - unless they were black! But I do have some very dark gray pants and shirts that could work. "I just don't have a thing to wear"!

   JB1 .......... hope you're not working when the party comes.

   Merrida .......... bring your water wings. There's a rumor that Moderators are going to tossed into the pool ..... but don't tell UA! After 3-martinis, Karen won't care!

Notes:

   I thought about bringing one of my Mustangs (they're each about 10"long) - so that Michele could burn one in effigy ..... but both of mine are Shelby Mustangs!!!!! Can't destroy a Shelby!

   Still looking for someone to bring that crowd control reptile.

Got some great news! I qualified for the federal student loan program. I pay 2 payments of 199 and my more than 6,000 dollars of loans are paid. Such a great relief.
