Just had an awesome supper from on the grill. Really enjoyed it.

The party was awesome too. Trina, the food was marvelous. UA The music was divine. Rob, I thought you weren't going to wear the grass skirt again... Michele, thanks for sharing your home... I had such a wonderful time. Since we are on the new thread, I can't tell if I missed anybody. Maybe I had too many Margaritas...

It is still beautiful here. Not one cloud in the sky. Though I heard that Sunday we might get a little rain.

I hope so. Or I will have to water the garden...

Trina, I was the 100th post and forgot to start a new thread. Thanks for starting, I can't believe we are up to 94...

   It was so quiet around here, you could hear the grass grow! Both neighbors across the street were gone for the day. My next door neighbor didn't seem to go out today for some reason.

   Neither daughters called me today. My oldest hasn't called me since she picked up money from me last Sunday. My youngest did though.

   Giz and I were out twice today - and very few people on the bike path.

   The explosions should begin in 2+ hours! Time to earmuffs on Giz!

AV- I'm only 5'3" so I'm vertically challenged too!! Lol

I'm sorry you are feeling under the weather. My dogs did ok with the fireworks. I didn't! They were loud! Lol! I'm sure neighborhood kids will shoot them for a while even though they are illegal.

Well, another full day of math! Stated at 1 pm. Just finished at 10pm. Brain is fried, but we got a lot done. At least 5 more hours tomorrow. But then we can take a break for a couple of days.

Well, a bowl of ice cream and then off to bed.

Good morning ......

   A rocky road last night between Gizmo, the fireworks and my stomach. I didn't eat much yesterday, so I'm hoping that's what that was.

   AV ...... that series "The Walking Dead" has three very memorable aspects. It really can get gross at times. It is so well written. And the actors, for the most part, are great!

   This morning, was the episode where Ricks wife had the baby by the make-shift cesarian, Carl had to shoot his mother and Rick found out his wife was gone. What a powerful 10-minutes!!!!! Maggy was great in it too! And so many strong characters!

   Michele ...... surprised your dogs weren't upset with the fireworks. Did they get the tequila shots?

Some thoughts:

   Here is a paragraph from a research protocol.

   "During this study a small group of people will be enrolled and given a low dose of OTS167. If they tolerate it well, the next small group of people will receive a higher dose. This will continue until we find the highest safe dose of the drug that can be given without causing serious or unmanageable side effects".  

   Considering the fact that I do have a non-functioning left kidney and a less than good functioning right kidney - I would be stupid to try this clinical trial. And .... nothing is stated about expectations of this med reducing the cancerous tumors in the body. There is a hope that it will keep the tumors from growing additionally.

   But .... the primary "mission statement" is to determine how much we can take of this med - to establish a safe dosage. And yes, several monkeys did die when trying to set a target dosage. This med is experimental in all uses of the term - although, there are strong medical beliefs in the ultimate results of this med.

   Monday - I will withdraw my name from the consent/authorization list. Frankly, I can't even be certain that I could keep driving those distances that many times with the GI problems I've had for the past two years. And U. of C. is too far to ask someone for a favor to drive me!

   I'm going to see if I can get in to see my Nurse Practitioner as early as possible next week - to run some things past her.

Morning All-

Rob- I agree. That trial doesn't sound good. Hopefully you can see your NP soon!! Nope, no tequila for them. Although my neighbor and I had one beer yesterday during tutoring. I think it took us three hours to drink it! Lol I'm not much of a beer drinker.

Dad called this morning and was upset with me because I didn't call him last week. He's right. It just seems I was always running from one thing to another last week. Heck, I worked yesterday 10 hours- didn't even go outside to see the fireworks. I'm having a cup of coffee and my neighbor is headed back down. But, all that aside, my dad is right. I need to make time. I was doing real good and calling every three or four days- I need to do that again.

Well, better put on my math hat!

AV: I hope you feel better. Is there someone that can get the Tylenol for you?
My nicknames in school were probably the oppressive. It was lamp post, Jordan (like in Michael Jordan) and tallgirl. Lol

Michele: You dad misses you. He probably also got accustom with you calling often. Thing can be really busy and hectic at times. Maybe, set aside a particular day or time to call him?

Rob: I agree with Michele. That trial doesn't sound good. I sorry... I hope there's another option for you. Hope your stomach feels better.

Trina: I'm sorry to hear about Alley. How is she today?

Afternoon all ........

   I've been an indoor hermit today - but gonna get out with the Giz before long! Speaking of Gizmo ....... late this morning, I had 1/2 of the coffee plus a small bag of munchkins (or donut holes) on the coffee table. I had three munchkins and there were seven left.

   I went to the bathroom and as soon as i was there, I heard paper shuffling. Sure enough - all I have to do is leave the room, and everything is fair game for Gizmo. Of course, he didn't touch the coffee - but those 7-munchkins were gone before I got back into the LR.

   Karen ...... I'm wondering if Chotti was having that hip replacement right away! I didn't think so - I'm concerned too!

   UA ...... so you're a tall one huh? There used to be a term "beanpole" that I think was very offensive!!! My daughters are about 5'-9" to 5'-10" and I don't remember them getting called names. But then - Dad was probably never told either.

   Michele ...... how's Stone doing? Hey - I don't remember him going into the pool yesterday. A Lab that doesn't go in the water?

   AV ......... the third season re-runs end tonight about 7 or 8pm - Central time. It'll be October before the 5th season starts.

Notes:

   Generally wiped out. Just had a Boost - the 8oz chocolate flavored kind. Seeya later.

Speaking of Trina, now where is she??? We got two missing that I am aware of. Did anybody notice Trina post today? Maybe being a holiday weekend has something to do with it. I hope that is all that it is. I hope Alley is okay...

I hope you all have a good night. I put off giving Jasmine any tranquilizers tonight. She couldn't walk this morning because of them. I didn't like that. I think it kicked in about 8 hours too late...

Hi Everyone: Sorry I haven't checked in for a few days. Sounds like a lot of you had a great
4th and party. I'm not doing so well, which prevents me from checking in. Don't want to bum everyone out.

Anyway, best wishes to everyone, and I hope your depression gets better.

Myself, I think giving up your career, moving, strugging with health issues that are reforming your life, trying to be supportive of a significant other that is in the throes of his own struggle with depression, being the receiver of his often unsupportive comments, and trying to get your life back on a fulfilling path all are tramautic. You've been through a lot in a short amount of time. It would be a shock to the system for anyone. I think you've done wonderfully despite the struggles. You have accomplished so much.

Trina, I'm glad your furbaby will be ok. Poor thing, don't you wish they could tell us when something is wrong? Mojo gets eyedrops daily. He has allergies that can cause his eyes to become crusted closed. He hates the eyedrops. I feed the kitties a more expensive food. The vet hasn't diagnosed her with anything but Hunter has a very sensitive stomach. This has been the only food that she doesn't immediately throw up. They are lucky they are so sweet and cute.

Today I will finally be getting a new tire. Then I'm off for some supplies. My throat is too sore for most food so I need to stock back up on colder, easy to swallow stuff.

My grandmother kept calling and texting yesterday. I told her that I didn't feel like talking but she wouldn't let up. I know she cares but it gets frustrating. I'm not like the rest of the family. I have to have time to myself to think it all out. Once I have a goal I can talk about it. I also don't like to display much emotion around others. That's uncomfortable for me. They are all very openly expressive. Its hard for them to understand and accept that I'm different.

   I didn't have much to post this morning .... and why it didn't submit, when I hit submit, I'll never know.

   Hope everyone is doing well today. It was supposed to be hot and humid later - so Gizzy and I went out this morning for an hour. Lot's of activity out there at 9:30am and sunny but not hot!
