AV... I hope Bernie will be coming home soon. I know you don't like to leave him there. I use to make blackberry jelly because I didn't want seeds in it. It was good, but sweet.

   AV ....... keep the faith. I know you don't like what's going on. I've never heard of the term "cone of shame" - but it's well-named. Gizmo had one of those once when it was snip-snip time!

   Giz does like going there because it's "doggy heaven" for a dog that likes to be around other dogs. I took him for a ride to get a sandwich today at noon ...... and he was crying and yelping and howling - until we stopped at a sandwich shop. Then he was quiet as a mouse on the way home.

   I think he first thought he was going back to see all those dogs at the groomers.

   Myself 09 ...... sorry - but try to have a nice week-end - then hit it again on Monday.

Semi-good news:

   I talked to the hospital today and they did OK me leaving my car there at the hospital overnight - for 24-hours or so - and with no fees! They just want my license plate and car description on file - so security will know it's the car of a patient staying overnight. Cool!!!!

   This way I can drop Gizmo off at the vet on the way to the hospital and pick him up on the way back home the next day. It's still 10-days from now - but details need to be done.

   Footnote ..... the admitting surgery nurse - over the phone - had the charisma of a retired drill sargeant!~!!!

Oh my Rob, a retired drill sergeant??? That doesn't sound good. I hope that you don't have to spend much time with her. I hate when stuff like that happens. Ha...

I am glad you are getting things worked out for you and Gizmo when you have your surgery. I hope everything goes well.

Rob- make sure they blur Gizmos private parts!!!! Drill sergeant, hmmmmmm, doesn't sound warm and fuzzy to me.

AV- I know you miss Bernie. But I also know he is receiving the best care.

I've had a down day. I went up to school and worked 7 hours but didn't feel good emotionally. Oh well, tomorrow is a new day.

Hi

No replies today. Im sorry I am so depressed I dont want to be awake. I am feeling so much at once. Sad mad doubt lonely bothered

I am sad that my grandpa is slipping away. I am sad that my dad is so scared about this tumor on his liver. I am sad that my kitty doesnt seem to care for me.

I am mad at everything.

I doubt my future is secure.

I miss the "love bug" from the cats I have had. I have no "romantic" partner.

I am bothered by people being around all of the time. I want quite. I want peace. I want everyone that is physically here to GO AWAY.

Jessica,

Work on mindfulness and meditation. It gives you peace.

Have you talked to your doctor or therapist on how you feel? This is probably situational, but you really need to talk to somebody. I am sorry you are feeling down. These things in life really stink, but we have to keep moving forward the best that we can. Hang in there sweetie. Know we are here for you.

I think its in the air. I'm down, too. Having issues with medicaid not covering some of medications which has me out of my antidepressants. Bernie's had me worried. I have my next dilation on tuesday. The kids start school on monday. Their dad wants me to pick them up tuesday but I'm not sure I'll be able to because of the dilation. Of course, he twists it and makes it sound like I don't want the time with the kids. Things are stressful and I'm looking at some serious housing problems. As soon as I find a way to make one probl err m better five more situations come up.

Jess, I think kitty does love you. She just expresses it differently. Try giving her treats when she cuddles. Cats learn a lot from positive enforcement. Just try to take it one day at a time.

Rob, we started calling it the cone of shame when Mojo broke his leg. He managed to get the cast completely off so he got a pink cast and the cone to shame him. I hate seeing Bernie in the kennel. This is a cat that is very offline in socializing. He loves to be loved on so being away from people isn't something he enjoys.

I haven't managed to get any sleep. I think I feel storms moving in. Something a high school classmate put on facebook had me thinking about a bad situation. She posted a video about a local kid that has juvenile arthritis. When I was in high school, I was in the marching band. Marching was pretty hard on my arthritic knees but I loved it. We got a new director who decided to have me march carrying the heaviest bass drum. My knees swelled up so much that I couldn't get most pants around them. When I went to the director with my problem she called me a liar. She started talking about my health problems with my classmates. I ended up quitting because it wasn't a good environment.

Forgive the double post. The vets office just texted me a picture of my boy. They took the catheter out and he made a big pee in his litter box! The blockage is gone. He also ate all of his food. I'm so proud of him and ready to have my catdog home!

   AV ........ there's one happy camper here this morning!

   Saturday morning - nice day out today - so far! We went out for the morning coffee run - and I realized my car change was down to $1.65 - so McD's it is this morning - for their cheaper coffee.

   Trouble is - it's close and few dogs are walked on that route. No dogs this morning.

   Jessica D ........ I saw you had a lot of response on your thread about your kitty. We care .... and even though I know next to nothing about cats myself, several people certainly seemed to have a lot of good advice.

   Michele ........ thanks for your offer - if you were closer. And, if you were closer, I'de take you out for lunch at a Mexican Restaurant i designed over 10-years ago. The tamales are authentic and the margaritas are so fine - both very good - for "down days"!

   Karen ...... that former marine - turned admittance nurse - is just for out surgery admittance. So .... I think .... I'll never have the displeasure of meeting her.

Notes:

   I forgot to mention yesterday - that the support group meeting ended in an awkward way! Maybe by next month, the facilitator will have some ideas of where we might go in the future for a support group.

Things are a little better today, kinda. Spent yesterday fairly glum, but managed three more apps. Part of the issue, I think, is that my resume reads one way, and it's near impossible to make it look else. I mean, just how well can you spin a PhD in the humanities and decades of college teaching? Even if I manage to work code words into the text, my employment history reads otherwise, even though I have the skillset they are looking for. Ah well. Sent a couple out that might be a good fit, kinda, sorta, if someone gives me a chance.

Quite worried about money at this point.

We watched The Fisher King last night, an early Robin Williams flick we both like. I think a lot of others are doing the same thing.

Today there is a high wheel race downtown-one of those old-fashioned bikes which have a huge front wheel and a small back wheel. They race for an hour along a downtown half mile loop, and the person with the most laps wins.

Hi all-

Myself- I understand where you are. But, don't give up hope. I'll send you some if you need it.

Rob- Mexican food- yummy!! I am tired of regular margaritas so I had a mango one last week. It was absolutely yummy!!! My kids are at there dads this weekend. Stone sleeps with Steven every night. Well you guessed it, he was my bed partner last night. He took the covers and stretched out across the bed!!! Turkey!!!

AV- I'm so glad that Bernie is feeling a bit better. I'm sure he can't wait to get home!! I know you miss him.

Jessica- big hugs to you. I'm sorry for how you are feeling. I wish there was something more I could do for you.

Laundry today and that's all.

Karen- I have been using my coping tools and I am feeling a bit better today.

AV- I have been thinking about Bernie and I am glad he us doing better. Yay soon to be back home. I know the feeling of 1 down and 20 to arise. Little Girl is picky and she will pick and choose who she wants to be around. If she wants to be around me, then I am here for her.

Myself- I am glad that you are feeling even just a bit better. Stay strong things will pan out.

Rob- Thank you for the support. I am just not used to rejection from my kitty us all. I am sorry that group ended so bad yesterday. Poop! All in good time will things become clear.

CheleL- Thank you for the loves.I have laundry too, ugh I dont wanna.lol

Well I have laundry, cleaning and a bit of sould searching on the list this weekend. I have to go to the 99cent only store but not much of anywhere else.

PS. KAREN- To answer your question about my doc or counslor, No as my insurance is in limbo between counties. So next month I will for sure.

AV: I'm glad to hear that Bernie is finally doing better. I hope you can get him home soon. Also, I can empathize with the continuing "putting out of fires". Financially, that is what I have been going through, and it's not a good way to live. Have you found any solutions to the housing yet? I know this has been a big worry for you.

Myself: I'm sorry that you were not chosen for the job that you interviewed for. That's definitely their loss! Stay strong and keep on going.

Michele: I hope that you are starting to feel a little bit better. I know that this has been a tough week for you. I'm sending you lots of (((((hugs)))))))).

..As for me, I am on my second weekend of studying. I'm behind today as I worked this morning and did some cleaning this afternoon, but I will hit the books in a few minutes. I just wanted to say hello to you all.

The high wheel race was fun!! The youngest participant was 10, and the oldest 65. They raced for an hour around a half mile course of streets in our downtown. The person with the most laps wins! These bicycles have a huge front wheel, and a tiny one in back. One gent was riding his great-grandfather's bike.

I got a mustache painted on.

   Gizmo was too stubborn to go for a ride today! ...... ????

  

   Myself 09 ...... do you prefer a handlebar moustache? That would seem most appropriate with those bikes.

   Cass ..... keep the studies flowing. Anything worth doing ... is worth doing well.

   Jessica D ...... Maybe a litttle redundant to say - but rejection is a daily part of life - for us all! It's not nice .... but it's there none-the-less!

   Michele ....... hope you're good. Hey ... wasn't "Stone" supposed to be your protector? And why was he named "Stone"?

   Myself 09 again ........ I still think of "The Dead Poets Society" when I think of Robin Williams. I know - not any kind of a comedy - but it was uplifting!

Well, I have figured out my current spiral down. My very very good friend and I figured it out. Last Sunday I started birth control pills after being off of them about a year. Not using them for birth control but to regulate and lessen monthly pains.

The hormones in there threw me into a full fledged depression. Not bathing, staying in bed, feeling hopeless and in a dark place. I threw them away yesterday.

Today I bathed by 1, and in the next few hours got everything accomplished that I wanted too... Not feeling 100%, but just knowing the cause makes me feel better.

Off to change laundry...

Hi Everyone:

Well, I just did something that I am so embarrassed about and feel awful about. I called my parents and asked them for help...I asked them for money to pay my 3-month car insurance bill and to buy groceries. My ex-husband recently cut down his child support as my older daughter turned 19 and I don't have enough to handle everything. I just want to crawl back under my sheets right now and not come out!!

Obviously, I need more income coming in (on my own). I'm thinking of either opening my own tutoring business or getting a Saturday job (although I don't know who would hire me for just one day). I will have to make a decision very soon on this.

And I must confess that I barely got any studying done this weekend because I was so down and worried about the phone call that I was procrastinating making to my parents. I guess I'll just have to make up for that this week.

I'm sorry that I'm whining here. I'm really trying to crawl out of this hole and be self-sufficient. It just seems that no matter how hard I try, it doesn't make any difference.

Cass, it happens abd at least you are trying to come up with a solution. The economy still isn't great and a lot of us have been there.

Michele, I'm glad you figured it out. Birth control pills always made me sick. Who needs more hormones?!

Things have hit a bad spot. I've had to contact the two local homeless shelters. Im doing what I can to minimize the impact this will all have on my kids. My Dr refused to sign off on the job because my back didn't respond to the shots. I accepted the job anyway. I will just have to lose my disability and medicaid otherwise there's no way to make things work. Had a pretty serious talk with ex. I'm heartbroken.

Hi AV...

I'm really sorry. Here I am whining and your problems are so serious. Will your ex consider still letting you stay with him? I don't want to see you end up in a homeless shelter. And I know how important it is for you to work, however, I'm worried that physically it will be too much for you.

You really do have a lot on your plate. My heart goes out to you.

Good morning .........

   I had sticker shock this morning. I'm getting sick of the DD coffee - because cream & sugar to them means god-awful sweet! McD's coffee seems too bitter. And the decaf at Startbucks is a little pricey and getting boring.

   So i tried a large (vente) mocha at Starbucks this morning ...... at $4.91! Jesh!!!!! It is really good but five bucks for a coffee blended with chocolate?

   AV ...... I wish you had a good interpreter with your ex! There are times when things seem to go well between you two - and then there are other times - like now!!!

   Cass ..... you are doing much to put yourself into the position of being independant. Don't feel bad about assking your parents for some help - please. My oldest daughter and her husband are both out of work - and they approached me two months ago for some help. They both made some mistakes, but I know they're trying ... so, of course, i helped. That's part of what parents are for! And that daughter is 38-years old!

   Michele ....... sorry but it was just a singular cheese danish - not a cake or whatever!

   HT ....... thanks ..... but those drill sargeant nurses really should be shipped over to the middle-east! Hope i didn't offend anyone!

Notes:

   Talked to my Austin Girl (youngest daughter) last night. Wow ..... she is homesick ... not for me necessarily - but she does miss the Chicago area and all of her friends here. She'll be here for a week - in about two weeks - coming in early Labor Day week-end.

   She said in Austin, for much of this week, it's been up to or just over 100-degrees ..... so no running again this week. She really misses not running.

   So on Labor Day week-end, she already has two group running dates for that week-end + I'm sure something to do downtown or on the lakefront. It sounds like she'll be free or open for us to spend her birthday together that week.

Good morning all!!!

Sorry I haven't been posting much, but you know how that goes. I am reading everything though.

Today is sunny. I am not so tired as I have been. I think shortly I will go out for my walk.

We had some humid days and I think that the barometric pressure got to me...

You all sound good. AV, I am sorry for the way things are going. You always work things out and I am sure you will again. You are a very resourceful person.

Rob, Sorry about the coffee situation. I only like my coffee. It is folgers. I always get Columbian and make it really strong. Put lots of creamer in it though. Hazelnut-coffee mate...

Michele, Jamie, Casandra and Myself... I hope you are all having a good day too. I hope everybody is.
