I am so sorry that you are having a bad time leaving. I know that this part is not fun, but as you said YOU WILL MOVE and be with your partner soon. I am thinking of you and button and your lady. Things will work as they should.

I'm sorry you're having a hard time. I understamd, as I'm having a rough time as well with no job and I had to move home to my parent's house that doesn't feel much like home. I want so badly to be able to get a job, save some money, and get it. But that's easier said than done, especially when you have no self - esteem. I wish you all the best and I hope that you can find what you need to make a better life for yourself.

I know I'm new and all, and I'm not sure how open you are with the members on here, but you can absolutely message me personally if you need to talk.

I remember this bit all too well. Tears and hugs at the airport. The last few days getting maudlin, because it is the last few days.

JAIMEE my dear sweet friend, please hug you know who for me. Hug her mindfully and remember every spot your bodies touch. You will both be able to use this as a meditation later. It does work, for most people.

I'm glad you have been having a great time, but so sad to hear of your distress re leaving your Dear Lady.

Altho, I haven't had had to deal w/ the leaving someone behind, I have some experience in the prep for ppl in somewhat similar situations.

My brother is many yrs older than me. He was in the Army, stationed overseas when he fell in love w/ a lovely lady. He had a LOT of paperwork to do just to marry her & then bring her back to the States. Shortly after they came home, he was stationed overseas again. But she couldn't follow him, as she wasn't a citizen. My SIL and their baby girl lived w/ my parents & my sis and me. My parents did the running around stuff for paperwork - this was back in 1964 - no computers, lol. I worked w/ my SIL to help her learn the language and U.S. History & such. She became a citizen w/ our help and she & the baby were able to join her Beloved.

I know our countries are different, but the end result is the same. Would you be able to find out from her country's POV what you need to begin paperwork? Perhaps have a government go-to-person there who can help you make sure all the T's are crossed and the i's are dotted. Someone you can continue to contact even after you go back home. Then find someone in AU who can help from your homeland's perspective.

Yrs after my SIL's situation, my DH and I adopted a darling baby girl. She was from the same country as my SIL. It was almost 3yrs from applying till she came home. I kept on top of everything. I was doing 'ok' till the time they sent actual pictures of her - she was only days old. I broke down and cried, I just wanted to hold her so badly. Then there were delays due to her government. The Olympics were starting and they wouldn't ok any of the children to leave the country. She finally came HOME when she was 4 1/2 months old. I cried again, but they were happy tears.

I hope you can get the paperwork moving quickly and will soon be able to GO HOME soon.

thx for sharing alice. many healings to you. yeah going through a immigration consultant when i get back. have some info already on some of the particulars. will need to see my gov people as well, down the track. references and stuff needed, have some professional people who will write on my behalf. shrink will write regarding my character and he says he will write on the importance of our relationship, and i can my gp if he will do something similar, pharmacist too, friends can validate our relationship as well. no probs there i have been over twice now. well got more pics.

ps, what helps is that we are both commonwealth countries and i can apply to come over on a spousal visa. well time to go. hope all is well. our love to all. us.

   I want to test your sense of humor for a moment - OK?

   I was in a long distance relationship once for 7-years - although at least 3-vacations were taken with no communications each time for months. She seemed to be dedicated to working evenings and week-ends. She was a 411 operator for the telephone company - and so she mae time-and-a-half for evenings, double time for week-ends and even triple time for evenings on holidays.

   She was very money motivated - and earning it herself. So we rarely saw each other on holidays, and often didn't see each other on week-ends either. She did have an inescapable roving eye - was fond of younger men (at least until they became child-like like they always did)! And ..... we lived 15-miles apart!

   BUT ...... it was still a long-distance relationship - especially mentally!!!!!

  I wish you and yours - a real and traditional long-distance relationship - all the power in the world to reduce that distance ...... as  soon as possible. In the meantime, humor goes a long way!

P.S. my above story was unfortunately true however.
