Depersonalization

I don't know is depersonalization is a real diagnosis.

A lot of the list sounds like disassociation, which I have, this I control with coping skills. The rest appear to be symptoms of depression and anxiety, perhaps emotional suppression.

I don't remember, do you see a therapist? I would strongly suggest you look into one. They are a great help in learning how to manage these symptoms and finding out why we have them in the first place.

Coping skills I use are mindfullness, meditation, art, music, walking, dogs, reading, support group.

Makes sense it's from the depression, I always felt that way when severely depressed, total detachment etc.

Lisa: Hope the Wellbutrin works for you, I've been on so many other AD's and the Wellbutrin works the best, it's a miracle for me.

Sean: How are you doing today?

I can check off a lot of those boxes. I need info. on, if I may? Anti depressants that do NOT effect B/P ??? My primary Dr. stopped trying after 3, 2 of which raised my B/P. & I won't do side effect drugs.

So sorry I did not get any notifications for this thread so I was not ignoring you all I promise.

How is everyone? Really hope you are all okay?

I have been pretty up and down lately but its been really weird as its been like one week good and not much DP and then a week of feeling quite a lot of DP. I upped the Lamictal to 100 mg just over a week ago and I felt better literally the next day and that continued until yesterday and now I feel spaced out again but I am taking hope in the fact that I go up to 150 mg on Monday and I have still not been taking the anti-depressants for 8 weeks so there is still room for them to improve and find the right levels with any luck.

How is everyone though?

Hey Lisa,

Really good to hear from you, so you are on 50 mg now and then in two weeks you will go to 75 mg right? Did your consultant say what dosage he wants you to get to? I cant complain as I have had a couple of really good weeks with a bad week inbetween but I am grateful for feeling better at least. I think the DP will ease more and more as the tablets take hold and I am looking forward to going up to 150 on Monday.

Sean- I just started the 50mg on Saturday so I've had 5 days on new dose. I can't tell a huge difference. I have less DP but still have the depression. The anxiety seems to be a bit better but I'm still not out of the funk. Not everyday or moment is bad. I do better staying busy and being with people. I still feel weird at times though- that "stranger in a familiar land" feeling. I suppose that's the DP/DA. I've been on Pristiq 10 weeks I think and idk if it's working. The biggest improvement I felt was about for 10 days after starting the 25mg Lamictal.

The psych NP wanted me to try the Lamictal before switching the Pristiq to something else. Getting annoyed that I've not felt much from the Pristiq. I feel like what in the hell is going to work! I'm so over this too. Especially since my history on AD's has been nothing but positive until this year. My psych assures me there IS something that's going to work and it still could be the Lamictal added so I'm still waiting. I believe it takes minimum 4 weeks for it to make any difference and I've read where ppl really respond to it w/few side effects.

6 weeks on the Cymbalta could still improve. What you have to wait on now is the Lamictal. That may be the ticket but you still have to give it time as it hasn't been long enough. I'm in the same boat! Which makes me wonder if the Pristiq is even doing anything bc it wasn't on its own... Or doesn't seem to be. In my past, I always felt something work within 2 weeks of taking it which is why I'm annoyed lol.

We are on the right track. Call your consultant if you have questions. Mine has phone nurses specifically to handle calls and questions.

This morning I felt off. I feel a bit better now. I'm going to my sisters home to swim in her pool with friends.

I do feel Sean we really are on the right track so try not to get too discouraged. I truly feel it. Sending you hugs!!!

I forgot to mention I've been on increased Pristiq for 2 weeks as well. I forgot about that lol.

I had a great afternoon swimming. Kinda got spacy after but I had a headache and was tired. I'm having a decent evening with my mom. I made us dinner and now we are watching her favorite show, Wheel of Fortune HA!

6 1/2 months for me too! Bullcrap I say! We are fighting it though until it goes away! We should write a book when we're healed

They like to do 25mg increases here. I'm not sure why but I do know there is a risk of a deadly rash (rare) so they go slower on the titration up. I think it's called Steven Johnson Syndrome. Like I said, very rare though and there are many other medications that can cause it. My mom takes Celebrex and it's one of the meds.

Personally, I avoid looking at side effects of meds. It's not worth the added neurosis lol.
