A rant.

oh i see,my father is prediabetic as well,but he isn't on any medication,he's just on a diet.carreer choices are wider outside of Saudi Arabia,but where i live,if you don't have a college degree,you'll probably end up jobless,i've been thinking about seeing someone,because now i'm pretty sure what i'm feeling is far from normal,there's just alot of hopelessness,hatred & emptiness inside,but at the same time i don't want to go because i feel like i'm overreacting,plus where i come from,you're considered crazy if you see a therapist,my sister is depressed,my mom has depression,& so does my dad,they were all on medication,but they quit,so i was wondering if it was hereditary or not?sorry,just went off topic for a bit,but like i said,if i go to one,i'm worried,plus insurance doesn't cover it,so if i book an appointment,i'll have to ask my dad for money,since my allowance isn't enough,& if i ask my dad for money,he'll have to know why,& if i lie,he may offer to drop me off,or my mom will tag along,or he'll force me to take my older sister,which is absurd,since i'm almost 18,also i'm waiting to see if this is just a phase or not.so yeah,i'm pretty confused.

just a question,since alot of you here suffer from depression,because i wanna know before jumping to conclusions,just tell me if that's how you feel/felt,or not.do you feel hopeless most of the time?are you restless,irritable?do your sleeping patterns change?do you suffer from any digestive issues?do you lack concentration,have poor memory?is there alot of self loathing?do you just wish it'll end?do you find yourself unable to find happiness in the things that once made you happy,or can't be happy for a long period of time?
are you pessimistic?are you a bit more sensitive & defensive?
please answer me,it'll be very helpful,thank you.

i finally did it you guys!i grew balls & went to see a psych,i got diagnosed with clinical depression,they put me on salipax,& told me to come back again in a month.

Yay!!! I hope this medication helps you to feel better. Kudos to you for making that appointment!!! You will be feeling better soon I bet!!!

Metallica were awesome to see,for those four hours,i seemed to forget everything,even if it meant standing on my feet for four hours,in the heat & humid weather,it was an outdoor concert,i got beer thrown on me,i got my face shoved in a fat guys hairy pits,i sweat buckets,i missed my chem lab final,but i got to retake it,it was worth it,i had so much fun,but i woke up the next day really tired,my feet were swollen & my neck hurt,but like i said,it was worth it.

so let me start by saying that i got accepted into the university i didn't want to attend,which is Princess Noura University,today was my first day,& i hate it!i mean how could i get accepted into this crappy university when i busted my ass in senior year??how??i'm beyond pissed & depressed,it's like all those nights of studying went to waste,i got good grades,how did i not atleast get accepted into King Saud??i mean i know a girl who got 10% lower than me & got accepted,i applied to Prince Sultan in the summer,apperently they raised their criteria to 90%,Da faq??the years before weren't like that!i got a 89.5%!So close!!but they refused it!& it's like all of my friends suddenly forgot about me,even my best friend stood me up,what a ****ing *****!i feel like god is laughing at me from above,also we've hit rock bottom financially,my dad had to sell his car & can barely afford my two little sister's tutions,ofcourse my college is free,since it's governmental & i'm Saudi,but i absolutely hate it!i tried giving it a chance,but i couldn't,it was so bad,& to make it worse at the end of the day i started crying & sweating excessively & i got a bad headache & my vision blurred slighty,i don't know whether i had a panic attack or it was due to the fact i hadn't had a proper meal the past four days.i'm so sick & tired at feeling like life is spitting on me & laughing at me,& it doesn't look like it'll end soon,i know i sound like a whiny crybaby,but this has been bothering me for so long,i just needed to get it out of me!

I have worked for just over minimum wage from 19 y.o. on. So I worked 2 or 3 jobs at a time. I didn't have to marry. And was able to care for myself just fine. Even able to buy my own home.

Just wondering if you are still on the medication? It seems it was working for you. Is it still? Just know you are doing the best that you can. As long as you keep trying, things will work out for you.

I know that feeling. Sometimes we just have to go with the way it is going. Sometimes we can't fight the patterns or make waves. But you will get it, you are trying and that is what matters. Keep posting and know we care...

Phil-if your thyroid function was checked last Aug, it has been over a year since your test. I was tested and tested and was barely functioning, with my life falling apart, before I was finally diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I had all of the symptoms and knew I was hypothyroid, but it wasn't showing in tests. I don't want to take this discussion away from depression so please go to those forums to read about the correct tests for diagnosis. The TSH level is not enough.
