Jess, Just wanted to let you know I didn't forget your post. Happy birthday to your son. And congratulations on the new kitty... I hope you have a blessed day.

Maybe we will let this thread run a little longer. So we can talk to Amber and keep the train of thought going a little longer.

Amber we usually shut them down and start a new one when it reaches 100 posts. But this one is special...

Karen- Thanks for the little side note. I knew no one forgot, things are very crazy right now and I understand.

Amber- If you are still reading these. I would like to invite you to stay around should you feel you need too.

Today my lungs are tight and nose is itchy. Lol my body shows signs of so many things when it's one thing, I am very strange.
Cas is still very scared but it will take time and he is opening up some.

Stay strong and we'll my friends. I love you all.

Thanks for the information about the puppy. A good home for a loved dog is a good thing. Glad you and your sister got it done.

A funny thing today--a kid came running up to me and said, "Look at my shirt." I did--a black t-shirt with pictures of cats in taco shells with lettuce and salsa. I said, "Taco cat." He said "yes, it's a palindrome--the same forward and backward." I couldn't stop laughing. I love the energy and passion of the middle schoolers.

Just wanted to do a quick update. My dad's services were today, and they were very nice. I was at first uncomfortable with the idea of helping be a pallbearer but had to step in last minute and I'm glad I did. It felt good to say goodbye one last time.

We had a lot of pictures of dad's dogs over the years up at the funeral home, and included a recent photo of Gizmo in his casket, along with his previous dogs' ashes and pictures of my sister and I. I think dad would have liked it.

Other great news today — Gizmo was picked up by his new foster dad (also named Bob), who lives pretty close to my dad's old house. Funny how fate works. We'll be getting updates from the Samoyed group on how they're doing. But it's nice that the day dad was laid to rest, Gizmo got a new home.

Oh, and this is what we picked for dad's prayer card. We really liked it. Maybe it will give you comfort, too:

I'm sorry about your dad Amber. Rob was a very special member. I am missing him. He was a father-figure to me and gave me hope and uplifting advice whenever I was down.
Prayers for you and the entire family...

Thanks for sharing the prayer that was placed in Rob's card. I think it is comforting.

I hope Gimzo will adjust well.

Amber, I hope you will be close by for a little bit, I am mailing out a card tomorrow and many others would like to send some. There should be some get well cards or thinking of you cards arriving too, as we didn't know he passed when they were sent...

I hope you had a good day. I know it isn't easy. You seem a lot like your dad with your caring personality.

I leave on Sunday, as I have to go back to work in Texas. But my sister is around and will be visiting the house often. Thank you.

Good... I am glad she will get the cards...

It is so awesome to talk to you here on the forum. Your dad was so very proud of you. He says you run marathons. He loved you both so very much and the grands too. He always had a little perkiness when he wrote about you girls... You could feel the love in the posts.

Not marathons yet, only half marathons, but maybe one day soon I will run a full marathon for Dad. Thank you. I've read through some of his past posts just to "hear" his voice again. He did mention you and a few other posters in person to me during our conversations. You all meant a lot to him.

Amber- Thank you so much for sharing these things with us. We all loved your dad, I know not near as much as you, but loved him none the less. We are very glad that Gizzy has his new home with Bob. Please feel free to post as you need to, we want to help you if we can. Thank you again.

amber. am glad you had a lovely service. your dad sent me a card when i was in hospital having heart surgery, and i have a very nice pic of gizmo. samouyd. spelling!!!! nice looking.my little girl, buttons is a pom but she is staying with my mum as i am a little too unwell to take care of her.

i sent a card..........it is from me (jamie and my partner & buttons.) too. many healing thoughts to you all.

Morning,

Not sure how good it is yet but can't be too bad. My lungs are a little better today. Still very tired and I do not like that part. I hate to sleep all day and leave my parents watch Alex but sometimes I have no choice I guess. Well I am off to rest a bit more. Stay strong and I love you all.

Lungs are a bit tight with congestion. Not fun to only take half a breath buy better than none at this point. I am going to do a breathing treatment and try to sleep. More tomorrow and I love you all.

Good morning you all... I guess it is time to lock this thread. I think Amber is on her way back home. Though it would be cool if she stayed in touch, I am not sure if she has time to. But Amber it was great t have you on and thank you or keeping us posted as to what has been going on. Bless you...
