Anyone on Disability who lives in Ontario Canada?

I have applied for disability and they received my application an May 14th 2005, my question is how lond did it take to get approved the first or 2nd or 3rd tries? I not only have Fibro but also severe depression as well as bad panic attacks/anxiety. My GP doesn't think I should go to work as anything will set off my attacks, I have had several jobs but have either lost or quit then because I don't remember things told to me or I can't keep up with my job as all I want to do is lie down, and this depression is no piece of cake either, I have been on 4 different meds for it and so far nothing has helped. so anyways any help would be great. Thanks.

I don't live in Canada, but in the U.S.
Here it is a money racket game. Disability is seldom awarded the first time and usually after the 3rd time applied for and that is with a lawyer that specializes in S.S.

Make sure ALL of your Drs. put in their notes on your file about your depression and FM complaints. You want to be making a paper trail that will be a valuable help no matter which appeal for SS they are looking at.

Hi Annie,

I am on disability in Ont. for major depression and panic attacks. My phychiatrist suggested it when I was 18, I am 28 now. I believe it took quite a while before I got any approval or support - maybe 9 months or a year. Sorry I can't be more specific... my memory sucks! I didn't really have to do much - my doc took care of everything. I know I was lucky for that!
