Just wondering, for those of you that are on Effexor, did it give you anxiety when going on it?
Is there anyone that takes only remeron

Hi CQ,
I had anxiety and panic attacks when starting up Effexor but everyone is different. I know you stated you had quite a bit of anxiety with Paxil, but I didn't, so you may be just fine.
Also, people do take Remeron by itself and use it for their only antidepressant.
I take it your doc has you on both now.
Good luck,
B.

I didn't get any anxiety on Effexor, but I took Xanax. Though I do believe Effexor is an snri which has anxiety fighting properties in it.
Best wishes...

Effexor made me anxious and almost manic feeling. I liked Remeron, especially for sleep. Unfortunately it caused RLS, but It really helped me sleep.

Hi, no I have just started on alow dose of remeron. He says I should get my sleep regulated first. I have just just started. I am off the paxil. For some reason I was having alot of anxiety on paxil. Now am feeling very sad and the Dr. Told me that once the remeron is increased, it will act as an anti depressant but I may have to wait 4 weeks.

Ang Michelle, did the remeron help with your depression and how long did it take?
Thank you. Cq

Hi CQ,
I am not sure how long it would take to see results. I think it varies with everyone. Maybe the average is 4-6 weeks. I always start feeling better a few weeks after I start on an antidepressant.
Wishing you the best,
B.

Canadaquestions,
Are you doing better? You haven't posted in a while; just wondering if the Remeron is helping you. I'm considering it as an add on to SSRI.

Hi Keaz,
Well I would say my anxiety is definitely down. I am feeling not too bad considering I have only started the 15 m of the Remeron for about
1 week, and I was on 7.5 before for about
1 week and a half. My dr. said that 15 is the therapeutic dose and that it takes 3-4 weeks. Initially I really slept, but I have been having a problem falling asleep. I have been taking 1/2 a sleeping aid.
I am feeling better, but definitely not 100%. What ssri are you on? I tried 2 and could not take the anxiety when going on them.

I just read your other posts. I know that everyone says you gain weight on Remeron, but for me I just wanted the anxiety to go away. It has not been that long. I could not take going back on the Paxil or initially Cipralex. It made me sooo anxious, but others I know had no side effects what so ever. Everyone is different. I see your doctor put you on something else. Keep posting.. there is a lot of support from these members. There is hope.

Hi,
Lexapro gave me start up anxiety the second time I took it and I had terrible heart palpitations with Viibryd, but I seem to tolerate Paxil, just wish it would do more for the depression, but it seems to help with anxiety.
I hope wellbutrin doesn't give me start up anxiety, but I guess I will find out tomorrow morning.
