I don't trust it. I took it once and thought maybe it was a fluke and tried again with the same result : a clinical nutcase.
It made me just crazy. Crying and thinking the strangest paranoid thoughts. I mean hysterical crying to why am I crying again ? It made me manic. And this is something little known about
St. John's wort. Some people just shouldn't take it at all. Like me!lol
Now I have done some research on herbals this is one thing easily missed. The potency of these herbs come in varities and you have to know how much and how often your taking them. They are not regulated by the FDA so one company can put out one kind of capsule at say 300 mg and another can put out a capsule of say 1000 mg ( these numbers are for example and in no way accurate) so when using a herbal supplement which can be very beneficial one must always check the potency and the recomended dosage because just because it's " natural" dosent aways mean it's good for you. Everyone is unique and remember herbals can interact with persriptions so aways tell your doctor which herbal therapies you are taking just as you would a medication. Good luck with the St. John's wort. It just didn't help me.
Ps in my readings I have come across studies that ( in my case it's true) if you have a family history or a pre disposition to bi polar or schitophrenia in studies they have found that St. John's wort actually caused symptoms of these conditions to manifest even in people who were not bi polar or schitophrenic pre study and in creasing the therapy the symptoms actually resolved to none. Again be careful with herbal therapy unless you are guided by a professional whom you trust.
