Third time's the charm?

Just got back from the primary care doctor. I burst into tears in his office. Hadn't realized how close to the edge of the rabbit hole I've been. So, I'm going to try my third antidepressant. This time, Wellbutrin. The others I've tried gave me vertigo. Hoping third time's the charm. Besides, maybe I'll smoke less.

I added Wellbutrin over a year ago. I felt the effects quickly as well, though had bad side effects for the first week or so. My policy is to always power through for at least a few weeks, better for a month, before discontinuing. The side effects faded, luckily.

{{{{{Pitmom}}}}} Sounds like you need a hug, so here is one for you. I hope your start up of wellbutrin goes well and you don't have any or many side effects of starting and that it works for you. I've taken it and couldn't tell you if it worked or not, being I am also on abilify and that I know works. I now take effexor because it is suppose to help with pain too, we will see. :) Wishing you well.

Again, thank you all for your words of encouragement. I've determined that it's best if I take it in the evening so I don't feel drowsy and foggy during the day. I know it's only been a couple of days but, so far, so good.

Hi Karen, I just went and rechecked the label and sure enough, it says "May cause drowsiness". Of course, my first dose was taken with a pain med, so maybe the combination made me foggy. I don't sleep well, so anything that might help with that I'll take it! Well, not 'anything'! lol. I need to be able to drive during the day, so taking it in the evening makes the most sense for me.
