Effexor 37.5mg seems to be working. Who can tell me about
what to expect with withdrawal?
I gave your thread a title, you will get more responses that way.

Hi Kirst857,
Just curious, if it is working, why are you wondering about
withdrawal? I took it for many years. Are you taking brand name or generic? I took brand name.
I am going to be honest with you. The withdrawal is not good. But you can go on another med to get off. I am now on pristiq. But that is only because the Effexor went generic. I had a smooth transition.
I did go off Effexor once because I thought I didn't need it because I was feeling well. It wasn't a pretty sight. This was the name brand mind you. I don't know about
the generic. I learned that the Effexor was why I was doing well, so I ended up going back on and remained on it for over 20 years. It is a good medication if it works for you.
I hope that it does work for you. How long have you been taking it?
Keep posting, welcome to the forum by the way.
Hugs, Karen...

Welcome to the forum Kirst.
If you have just started the med, why are you concerned about
withdraw?
If you stop the med for whatever reason with the doctors knowledge they can help makesure that any WD symptoms are minimal.
Everyone is different and it depends of your own particular situation.
Don't borrow trouble where there is none. Enjoy the med working and enjoy life now.
Peace
Trina

I think that they work a little differently. I never took the generic, so I don't know how it feels to be on it. I know that the cost is very different.
But I have heard of people taking a brand name drug and then having to take a generic, and it doesn't work the same.
Best wishes...
Hugs, Karen....
