Does anybody else take paroxetine? I started taking it 6 weeks ago (haven't been on meds before) and it is beginning to have some effect. However the past 36 hours have been bad for me so I'm feeling quite stressed.

I have been researching St. John's Wort and just saw this in an article...(it studies people with minor depression)--
a recent study that compared SJW and paroxetine, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI), which demonstrated surprising results. In the study, patients randomized to SJW showed greater symptom reduction than patients taking immediate release paroxetine. At six weeks, 71% of SJW patients, compared to 60% of paroxetine patients, showed a 50% or greater reduction in depressive symptoms. In addition, significantly fewer patients taking SJW experienced adverse effects.
The articles was from Nutraceuticals World 01 July 2005.

Thank you for that information and I will try that avenue. I had wondered what people took SJW for but I am prepare to try this so again thank you.
