hi, I am an old turtle, and I have been there as a teen and an adult. I think it is real important to talk to a trusted person. mum thinks it is boys, hormones, that kinda thing. adults sometimes forget what younger people deal with sometimes, they are older, things different in their time, so excuse that. the other thing that mum might be trying to do is to see if you brush it off, then she will know that it is not something serious. depression is a medical illness, and should be taken seriously. a school counsellor, a pastor or teacher is a good place to seek support. getting help early is important, it is very common, and especially among younger people. a lot of young people do what is known as masking. you know happy face and all. please know that we are here for you. depression can about for no reason, from anxiety, and other ways. a trusted person is a must. tell that person what you have said to us. you have been real brave and open, that is the hardest hurdle and you recognising it. know it, deal with it and manage. there are plenty of methods. I don't know where you are, but ya school counsellor would be the go. they can help with information and educating some of the older ones. (parents!!) keep strong. I am sure that other members will post with info and teen call numbers. if you have a teen service, use it, they are real helpful. I have used them, well, the ones more adults would use, but you get what I mean. helped a lot.
get back 2 us okay. keep strong.
