I am so sore from the shoveling and the car clearing and more shoveling! I am an early morning worker so, by the time my son got here, my neighbor and I had everything nearly finished! I'm stubborn and cannot just sit around and wait!
First, the steps and walkway, which were not so bad because the neighbor had already cleared them half way through the storm. Then I took a nice break. Then, I got impatient when my son didn't answer his phone. So, the next 'small' project...digging out the trash can from what the snow plow left. The pile was as high as the can and about an equal distance from the edge of what passed for the road. Then, another nice break. Tried to send a message to son through his girlfriend...again, no response. So, on to clearing off the truck. Had it nearly done when son arrived. He actually refused to help with my daughters car, as she did not come out to help either!
Once it was all done, I came inside and put my pajamas on! Still had to cook dinner, but yesterdays dishes were still in the sink! At this point I told my grandson to take out the trash (now that he could get to the trashcan!) and demanded my daughter at least scoop the litter boxes!
Then, you guessed it, the plows came back! Thank goodness I only had about one foot to re shovel at the walkway!
Today, I dealt with digging a path through the waist high drift from the street to my oil/kerosene tank for a fuel delivery tomorrow!
Priorities and details!
At least the sun is shining and the sky is a gorgeous shade of blue. Cloudless yesterday, thin high clouds today. My paper whites are in full bloom on the kitchen counter, the dogs are entertaining to watch as they stick their snouts into the snow and search for their beloved tennis balls, our bellies are full and our bodies are warm.
Joyce, I feel your pain! At least one of our kitties has decided that the dog crates make good substitute litter boxes and at least one other has decided that the bathtub is more to his liking! At least that location is easy to sanitize! Must remember to put the plug in the drain though!
Glad the plow guy was there to help you up. Cry on my shoulder any time!
