Does anyone during a depressive state begin to remember times during childhood when you felt the exact same way as you do at that moment. Do weird memories during your life start coming back to when you felt depressed?

Its weird bc I also feel like I get deja vu, or reliving those moments.

Any links with depression and memories?

Do you think you could have some suppressed memories that could be trying to surface? I get a lot of deja vu moments. Some people believe we can get premonitions. Which would be like a deja vu. Feeling you have lived something before. Being that you probably dreamed it.

I would imagine that sad memories could depress us. But I don't think that the memories always have something to do with depression.

Yes I get alot of deja vu!
It scares me cos I get this sinking stomach feeling...I also feel so sad realizing Ive been depressed my entire life...

I use to get premonition dreams but then it started to scare me, they stopped. Nothing bad ever happened, but I didn't want any bad premonitions. It was strange because they just stopped.

I have had depression since I was nine. I am now 57. But I have had it under control for about 25 years. It is daily work. But eventually you can do it without even trying. Do you ever read any books like self help books? They can really be a life changer. I always looked for books on how to stop depression. Or keep it at bay if you can. It really puts a damper on life. Dealing with it daily.

I find meditation helps me a lot. I also take medications and go to therapy. But the meditation makes me feel more human. But like a part of the earth. It clears the mind for a bit. Kind of gives you a mini vacation.

Oh yeah, I get memories of when I was just a little kid a lot. Some of my memories are of times I hadn't thought of since I was just a kid. And yes, I will feel the same emotions as when I was little.

I'm a highly sensitive person. I feel too much a lot of the time. I link my memories to different emotions, etc. The depression I have wants to make me feel too much

I'm glad I'm not alone in this.
I only remember these moments when I'm really depressed.
The world feels like a completely different place...
Can be rather scary
