Do you know any other 'loners' that you could invite to an activity?
I'm sort of used to occupying myself as every other year the kids were with the other parent.
This year, my son has his new baby girl, my daughter will be working, my nephew will be working, and no one knows what their schedules look like yet.
The day before, I will do my baking and probably make a turkey breast. We traditionally make a ham for Thanksgiving as my kids were "turkeyed out" from visiting my ex's family when they were younger and my grandson likes ham more than turkey. By making the breast the day before, I get to have the leftovers with the rest of the 'trimmings' the next day. The sides are pretty much the same...mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, biscuits, etc. so it works out well.
Are there shows you can binge watch 'on demand'? Movies with sequels that you can rent? Take a long hot bath now that no one will be in the house to interrupt you? A long nap? A pedicure?
Instead of looking at it as being alone, try looking at it as an opportunity for solitude and spoil yourself!
Oh, to not have to share the remote! To cook what I like and not have someone look at me like I eat the grossest stuff on earth (I like chicken liver)! To put my hair up in curlers for the day and stay in my pajamas! Catch my drift?
