Chris:
Thanks for writing back.
Glad you took it upon yourself to take some steps to improve your situation.
Glad you went to a place called crises residential. The first step is often the hardest.
You talked there from 10 p.m. until 2:30 in the morning. I think that's great. I think that might be a world's record. Let me look that up. Yeah, it's a world's record. No one's ever talked that long.
Sounds like a good place, crises residential.
You say, "They help you find resources like grief groups & such." That's great. My psychiatrist is always trying to get me in group therapy. So I pass that down to you.
And, you noted, " Every time I started to drift off to sleep I would jolt awake because I knew I wasn't at home," adding,
"But it did help. I didn't want to go to the hospital because they don't really help... they just prevent you from hurting yourself."
It's good that you're finding some places that help.
And, "We are having Luke's service next Saturday. After that I might go back to the partial hospitalization program that I was in before I started having back problems."
That will be a tough time, and it's good that you've lined something up in your mind that you can go to afterwards.
You said, "Thanks for checking in on me."
Thanks for writing back and letting us know how you're doing.
