Does anyone ever get tired of disappointments?

I have had the worst month..lost two jobs.  I finally got a little hope over the past few weeks, as I have been getting called in for interviews.  Had an interview this week, that I felt I did very well in and they kept me there for three and a half hours having different people interview me.  They were hiring four people for the position, and I really thought I had a good shot at the job.  For the first time, in a long time, I had a little joy and excitement..only to receive in the mail today, a "thanks, but no thanks letter" from them.  Then, I called to see if my application for unemployment was approved, and it was not...which crushed me.  I thought I had a good chance at that as well, since I felt I was forced to resign from my last position.  Not exactly the Christmas I wanted. At the end of the call, she said "your claim for unemployment was disallowed, Merry Christmas".  I have been weeping all day, and just not doing well, I guess I don't handle disappointment very well.  On top of that, I don't have the money to go to Florida to see my Dad for Christmas, and this is the 15th year, I have spent the holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas) alone.  I am tired of constant disappointments..tired of this struggle with life at times..tired of this illness. Thanks for listening.  It has just been a bad day.  I have a $100.00 to my name for food, gas and groceries and even part time work is slim pickings..I am trying everywhere.  Things can only get better I hope and pray.

Companies are using the umemployement office as a free referral I think as they don't have to pay the fees. There have been quite a few jobs that I hit "how to apply" and it said that you have to be qualified for this position and that someone from the unemployement office would contact me. And then about an hour letter I received an email giving me the info on where to apply.
I also just sat down and made a list of the big companies here like John deere.ect ect and I go on their websites weekly to check their openings. You can usually submit your resume and then keep applying to open position that you think you qualify for.

Oh yeah I know that,the employers lie lie lie haha.. Before I quit that job I actually talked to my employer about starting a new med that I wasn't sure how it was going to affect me. I was worried about being whacky for a bit,and they had a long talk with me about "drug use" I'm like,Hello!! I just told you I was on antidepressants and something for panic attacks not illegal drugs. They even suggested that I go see a different doctor. I sometimes wonder if I should have said anything,and I think that is why they never did anything to that last manager.
But,it's their loss that is for sure.

I know exactly what you are going thru.  Before I lost my job the end of July I had interviewed 2x for this co.  I really wanted a job there.  I thought I had a good chance but I, too got the no thank you letter.  I applied again I think back in October at their job fair.  I have not heard a thing.  I called and was told they were hiring for open positions in Jan. and Feb.  I do not know if I should believe that.  Then the end of Sept. some guy called me as he got my resume from the internet.  I talked to him but had no interest in the job.  I agreed to go and interview.  They were hiring 8 people.  Once I got to the interview and asked some questions, it was not what I thought it was and I decided I really wanted the job.  I even sent a thank you note...actually to both places.  Again, another no thank you.  2 weeks ago I started a long term temp. job.  I really like it there.  It is only temp. but I emailed the temp agency and said I would really love to stay on there.  They said they would look into it and see what they can do for me.  So, we shall see.  This is a very hard time of the year to be unemployeed also.

Shynsassy, I do not know where you live, but I was wondering how your unemployment works and how you can get an extension.

I have been recently diagnosed with Crohns disease...but have depression too. My Dr. put me on Effexor XR and it didn't agree w/ me so he put me on lexapro the end of Nov. Then I was put in the hospital for the 14th time in 22 months for my belly and diagnosed with Crohns. They didn't give me my lexapro in the hospital and instead gave me ativan and xanax. I thought I was ok when I saw my Dr. a couple of weeks ago...cause I finally had a diagnoses etc...but I am so low right now. My husband and I have been through a lot in the last two yrs. I feel like I can't take anymore...I am so down. He lost his job..we lost our house of 13 yrs..but before they foreclosed...it flooded and we were in a motel for 7 wks...(our homeowners insurance covered that)... btw..we have three boy's.Then a week before it got foreclosed it was finished..the inside and ready to move into again. We stayed with friends for a week and moved out onto my in laws property..5 acres in the country. Well..we live in my husbands grandmas old 78 single wide mobile. I am grateful though..we do have a place, please don't get me wrong..but a month after we moved here I almost died..started bleeding from my colon in the middle of the night and spent a month in the hospital 300 miles from here. Well that brings me to today...it's been 22 months and I finally got a re diagnosed with Crohns and am just now on treatment for that..Whewwww Sorry for the earful..I just about can't take anymore..Tam

I am terribly sorry to hear about what has been going on. Are you on any kind of support board for Crohns disease or support group? That sounds awful. Can I ask why the hospital stopped your Lexapro? Was it working for your depression? Is there any way you can get back to see a Doctor concerning your depression and get back on meds or Lexapro? Did they discontinue it because of the Crohns? Sorry..a bit confused..upsets me that a hospital would take someone off of meds for depression cold turkey! I am thinking of you, and hope you feel better soon, please keep us posted - sending postive thoughts and prayers your way!

Hi girls...thank you so much for caring . I don't know why they stopped it. I had only been on it a week and kept saying I can't miss my lexapro...but they said the Dr. didn't order it. Weird..but when I went to my Dr. after getting out of the hospital...he asked me how I was doing. I said I felt so good because I finally had a diagnosis you know. So he wanted me to wean off of the anxiety meds and I go back in a month. He is still thinking I will probably need to go back on the lexapro. He is being causious...just weird how they stopped me cold turkey. It wasn't from Crohns though. I think he realized that a lot of my anxiety and some depression was from being sick for so long and hopeless cuz the Dr.'s didn't have a clue. I am in good hands though as far as a new Internist and GI doc's. I have went off of paxil cold turkey and oh my gosh...it was awful. So sick and dizzy etc...that's why I was so worried with them cutting me off. I am down from the CD and our living situation..we need to move, find a rental somewhere and start rebuilding our credit. Sucks after you have owned a home for so long you know. But life will go on. My father in law is a harsh, cold thoughtless man and he speaks his mind and is very inconsiderate...I had talked to him and well he upset me so bad. Had me crying yesterday. We need to move away from him. I know my hubby doesn't like being this close either...although we are grateful that we have had a place to rent. My father in law doesn't know the Lord and that's where his hard heart comes from...and bitterness. But I forgive him...Thank you so much for your prayers..it means the world to myself and family. Hugs, Tam

I think the hospital or the Doctor maybe got confused, when you said "I can't miss my Lexapro"..maybe he thought you meant you wouldn't miss it, if you didn't take it anymore. I think that sometimes Hospitals are short staffed, or there are so many different Doctors monitoring a patient, that things can kind of get lost in translation. Is there any way you can try to see about going to a Psychiatrist instead for depression medication? Try to make it a priority, because no one deserves to suffer. Sending good thoughts your way.
