In today's society It's very easy to hide behind emails and text messages which is a real problem. I hear a lot of people say that they hate the telephone, which I always think is an avoidance excuse which has nothing to do with the telephone but everything to do with the person who 'hates' the phone. I would challenge yourself and try to figure out what it is that you are avoiding and own it. We are ultimately in control of what we think and how we feel and much of what we feel is about
us, but it's easier to blame other people, we do it all of the time
Perhaps you can practice making some calls and pay close attention to what you think and feel and try to change that, or don't think about
it and just throw yourself into it, it's probably the avoidance that's creating the anxiety if you just do it and get it out of the way you won't feel anxious
after all it's just a phone call
