I'll be baking a ham on New Years Day. Our 'family tradition'.

I've been using Zycam nasal swabs for my cold...I truly believe they shorten the duration. I had gotten the flu shot once...almost ended up in the hospital from it! Yeah, I'm one of those unlucky few that get sick, really sick, if the strain I catch isn't what the vaccine is for. Never again! I'll take my chances.

My neighbor's 7 year old granddaughter is in the hospital with double pneumonia! Started out as a cold!

CheleL, mobile homes are so not built for cold temps! Last night, I set up my new cable box and took the time to put one of those insulating pads behind the outlet cover...what an incredible difference! It's really shocking how much cold air sneaks in from outlets and light switches! Also, if my windows aren't locked, they sometimes shimmy up just enough to allow a draft mid window! Putting my hand at the bottom I wasn't feeling anything and it was driving me crazy! Had no idea it could be coming from the middle!

I'm letting the kitchen faucet trickle day and night so the pipe won't freeze. We've been having 'highs' in the 20's and single digit lows with negative wind chills! Typical for NJ, just a bit earlier than usual, if my memory is right.

It's snowing a bit, not supposed to be more than a nuisance amount. Had to move my truck as there is 'no parking when road is snow covered' where it was.

Hope everyone is on the mend. I am finally feeling a bit better - at least good enough to put on actual clothes instead of sweats! I can breath without collapsing into a coughing fit! Woo-hoo!

My big goal for the day is to put clean sheets on the bed -- after a week of night sweats they really need changing. If I ever win a huge lottery (which of course I'm too sensible to even enter), my first order of business would to arrange for clean sheets EVERY DAY. Wouldn't that be great??

I love hearing people are starting to feel better. I think our high today was 15. Going to be -7 tonight. After that it is suppose to get closer to the upper teens. I can handle that better.

Hubby is feeling better today. He just laid down for a nap. I am making scalloped potatoes and broccoli for supper with avocado and tomato salad.

Do you take anything for anxiety? It sounds like you have symptoms of anxiety going on.

I hope you guys enjoy the movie. I haven't seen it yet.

I think I suggested an SNRI, If I can spell it, Serotonin Norephinephrine Reuptake Inhibitor.

It has anti anxiety properties. It is worth a try. Lorazapam should help with anxiety though. I think it is a benzo. Like valium or something similar.

I do hope you warm up some. It finally hit 0 here.

Hi all-

My neighbor who is a RN was working in the ER in a Louisiana hospital. I spoke to him over the phone and he does not think its bronchitis that I have. He mentioned the flu and I told him I didn't have fever. He said he's seen 360 patients in two days. Of those 197 tested positive for the flu. That's incredible to me!!!!!


If you are celebrating tonight, please be careful! Tonight it will be the dogs and I- me watching tv and the dogs barking at the fireworks.
