Should be the last cold day here as well, but snow is coming.

It was our anniversary yesterday but too cold to do anything! We decided to to go out tomorrow instead.

I think we are suppose to get some rain Nerd, which on top of the snow will not be good. .But we'll see.

Myself, you put so much into your garden. It is funny how certain bugs like certain fruits. I still get rose beetles from when I had roses in my yard when I had the business. They attacked my Dutchman's Pipe vine last year. Which bloomed for the first time in 15 years.

I hope your garden does well. It is fun to go through seed catalogs.

I missed the anniversary. Happy Anniversary Nerd!!!

One that is a pretty bean is a scarlet runner bean, but I think it is more ornamental than anything. Can't really remember. It wants a trellis.

The Dutchman's Pipe is awesome but the flowers are small (here they are anyway) and short lived. But I was so happy to have them after having the plant for 15 years and no flowers. Seems like some things have to get real old before they bloom here. Or maybe that is just the way it is.

I haven't shopped for seeds on the internet. I don't know why I didn't think of it. Thanks for suggesting that. I will have to see what I can find. My garden space has gotten real small. I do need to beef up the soil.

Hi everyone. Down. Diarrhea. Bad sleep

Still here. Still sick.

Thursday the storm hit. 16 inches. Shoveled steps and walkway and dug daughters car out. Yesterday, shoveled out trash can but the truck never came! Also had to shovel a path to the kerosene tank as the plows had left a HUGE pile blocking it! Today, cleared off the truck and my partner shoveled it out.

I'm exhausted. I'm in terrible main from my shoulder. Have an appointment on Wednesday with the pain management doctor.

Temps should start rising tomorrow...freezing rain and sleet headed our way. Yuck.

Thawing means mud in the back yard. Waah.

I hear ya, HT. On Sunday, I had my first normal BM in three years! (TMI--perhaps for those with depression, those with IBDs out there will understand.) It sounds as if your system is off-kilter.

PitMom--you got way more than we did. Shoveling is so hard--and in the cold. My muscles were vibrating with the cold. Take it easy today.

Karen--I have shopped Etsy--connecting with small farms and sellers throughout the country, and around the world. My big issue is that many of the large seed sellers have incorporated GMOs and while they have quantity on their side, they rarely have the less-grown seeds. I am getting seeds for a zuch called Dark Star, which has more protections against disease and bugs. I am planting the Italian cocozelle again this year--a striped prolific zuch. I also have three kinds of winter squash and a scallop. I have gotten a little out of control. Yesterday I made a spreadsheet with seed counts and years. I have them stored in the freezer.

W4W--Sounds like you are a Canadian--and squashes are a warm weather plant. They go crazy here in the Mid-Atlantic coast. I rent a 15X15 plot in a community garden. My family always gardened massively, and I never did until three years ago. Lots of reasons behind that--but I find it soothing and therapeutic. We have a long balcony on our urban apartment--and boyfriend grows the herbs here, and the microgreens in a light box.

Ack. Joyce-hope you are okay with the weather and the cold.

Taught and tutored. Making yogurt in the Instant pot. Reading the new book that came out last week--wikileaks posted a pdf of it online.

New med is kinda working on my pain, up to 20mg every other night, I sleep a lot. Waiting to get use to the dose.

Karen, Myself.. I love ETSY,, Karen you can down load the app for your phone, it only takes a minute. I find lots of stuff on ETSY that is less expensive that eBAY. and in better condition. People and a lot friendlier to!

My John was the canner this year we have apricot jam, peach jam, peach, brandied peaches, blueberries.
So many benefits being married to a chef.

I ran errands today and I am poopted, to tomorrow, I will make meat sauce for pasta. I have some nice porks ends, YUM!

Myself, I have always had problems with seeds, even read up on how to do it properly from serveral sources.
I am a seed killer!

My pain lower, however the med will have to changed as it is causing pain in my legs and it is getting difficult to walk again, I see the neuro on the 17th. We are discussing a nerve block through the sinus cavity to at least stop the cluster headaches.

1 out of 3 not bad.

Jamie, Cheer up mate, you don't live in the State where celebrities think they have the qualifications to be President! Our current one, should be proof enough that this is not true. Scarey times!

Try to do your breathing slow and meditative, it works so well for me these days. Does not change the situation, but eases my anxiety and worry.

Warmer here today. But looks like rain today and tomorrow. I worry with all the snow, it could get icy.

I noticed Joyce hasn't been on in a couple of days. I hope everything is okay Joyce...

I need to get a fasting blood draw, but fasting is the tricky part. I have to remember not to eat or drink my coffee. Wish me luck...

Karen, I am the worst at fasting blood work! I have to tape a note to the coffee pot...I'm such a zombie in the morning, I forget not to make it!

Saw my pain management doc today...got my referral for pt and my med refill. Made the appt. for pt on Monday. So, I'll be T-Rex for a few more days.

Trina...all I can do is shake my head at our current 'state of affairs'. Enough said.

I think all of my amaryllis have gone dormant from lack of sunshine. I had to put the thermal curtains up and they are all withered. At least one of them gave me blossoms. Sigh.

The birds are so fun to watch at the birdseed bell I've put out for them. They really help me get through these months.

Hi All

Made it to the doctor today. Will be switching over to Pristiq to see if that works better for me.

No bird feeder but we do have a heated home for a feral cat we keep warm and fed out back. She spitting out kittens (we saved / adopted 4 of them) before we could get her fixed. Now we make sure she is a well taken care of as possible.

Brought in the Bay and Rosemary for the winter. a few months back. The rosemary is tough to keep going but the bay, including some cuttings are doing fine. Also a few pepper plants that still have fruit on them that i hope to put back out in the spring. Started a couple of dates seeds as well. They seem to be doing ok but I'm sure some time outside next year will do wonders!
