transcranial magnetic stimulation

Has anyone heard of this or had it done?

My PDoc mentioned it to me today.

Wondering if anyone has had it done and if so, what are your thoughts?

Hello, I started my TMS last Friday and will go every day for 13 weeks for treatment. My doctor suggested it because I was thinking of DBS and he said he would like to try TMS before we go so invasive. He is a well respected physician in my state so I am hoping that this is a positive treatment in my treatment resistant depression.

I am on my second round. I did the NeuroStar for 13 weeks. I had a second round of 8 before they put me on the H coil which is stronger. You get 50 pulses every 12 seconds they increase the power. Makes your teeth clench and thumb move. It is a weird feeling but it doesn’t hurt. I go every other day then I will go 2 times a week then once a week. I’m cautiously optimistic.

Yes my strength is 1.08 which is really high to start. I have 40 pulses every 30 seconds. The first day I tried to talk while it was pulsing and I could put words together, it was so weird. I am at my 4th treatment today and I am able to talk while its pulsating.
I am hoping for the best.
