Saw the dermatologist yesterday...she biopsied 2 areas and is pretty sure they are both cancer. We'll have to wait for the results and then make a treatment plan. She also 'froze' 2 other areas and we will see how they respond.

I kept you all in my mind. Stayed right there in the office, didn't 'run off' with 'wild imaginings'. I remembered to breathe. No panic attack.

Oh Pitmom, I am so sorry to hear this. I hope that they can get it all. My brother in law just went through this and he is doing fine. I hope you will too.

Glad you kept things under control. And breathing...

Hang in there and know we are all here for you. Keep us posted.

Saw a humming bird last night. That was awesome. Hubby put feeder close to my window where I sit at the computer.

Pitmom,

try to think positive. I know awfully difficult.

twice I have gone to dermatoglist and spots on my face turned out to be pre-cancerous.

As the cells continue to return, left cheek and left side of nose, most likely for sun while driving. [Who knew right?]. Doc prescribed a gel, Clindamycin Phosphate and Tretinoin Gel to apply nightly with a little bit of cream.

It works well.

I will keep you in my prayers.

healing thoughts to all. hi everyone. been a bit chaotic, but coping.
good connection with mum sis, b.i.l mum and one other bro. mum seen sis shop for first time. at library. mri and scans today. thought i would check in.

So, I think I should have said that the doctor told me it would take one to two weeks to get the results. I know each day is only 24 hours but, obviously they seem longer! I jump every time the phone rings!

I've been reminding myself that nothing has changed. The sun still rises and shines, the birds keep singing, the flowers keep blooming...it's only my head that's in 'limbo'.

Unsettled weather yesterday. Today will be sunny and warm with a possible thunderstorm later. May go buy the new fencing today...keep busy with that.

Our 'Social Services Director' here has invited someone to talk with us about Medicare this afternoon. I'm curious about getting a 'secondary insurance' so, at least I'll have an opportunity to ask. Whether they know the answers remains to be seen. I get 'extra help' with my premiums and I don't know if getting another additional policy will affect that. Since Medicare doesn't cover dental, and some of the secondary ones do...yeah, I'd really like to know what my options are.

Thank you all for your kind words and support. It means a lot to me. Having a place where I don't have to 'explain' how life throwing a curve ball can screw with my mental health has been such a huge help to keeping me on an even keel.

Jamie--glad to see you post. Health issues are so scary when they pop up unexpectedly. But a functioning family is a good thing.

Karen-how is hubster? I wish I could put up my hummingbird feeder. Maybe someday I will have green land of my own to plan.

Just dropped a potential car off at an independent mechanic to have a look-see. If everything checks out okay--I will buy it. 2015 Kia Soul. Right price and right mileage. It doesn't have manual shift--but I can deal without it. The carfax reports an accident and some frame damage--but offers NO other facts, and nothing appears wrong to the uneducated eye. Everything is in the garden except the summer squashes--maybe in a few days. Yesterday, we had a salad with dinner that came from my garden. I might need to replant my delicata squash--they haven't germinated yet. There are tiny buds on my roma tomatoes.

I came to the realization a few days ago that I am still blaming myself about my sister's death. It has been six years this month. With this blame comes self-punishment. I need to think about this.

Very depressed today. I took my dog (Jasmine) to the vet today for routine shots. When we pulled in she collapsed and died. I don't know why. They said she probably had a heart attack. I am totally distraught. I am going out in the woods to look for mushrooms. Hopefully it will take my mind off of everything.

No words can express the sadness I feel about your loss of Jasmine; I know how much she meant to you and how lonely you'll be without her. Remember all the love she received that you gave over the years.

Karen that's awful, thinking of you. And you too pitmom.

Today is rather dull outside here but my mood hasn't been too bad. Compared to a month ago I am doing a lot better. I am rarely getting bouts of anxiety now and my mood is rather stable, though I feel like I'm perpetually bored. But good news is my girlfriend is finally coming back into the country and I can see her again next week.

I have more med changes to look forward to though. Psychiatrist put me on olanzapine, which I'd never heard of, and thankfully I haven't had any side effects apart from being quite groggy in the morning and a little jitteryness. The plan is to taper off (or at least down) pregabalin so I can get my libido back.

Hopefully the pain doesn't increase when I'm coming off, or anxiety come back. We'll see. I see the GP next week to discuss how I'm getting on.

The rescue dogs I've known have all been the sweetest, loveliest dogs. My friend has a rescue dog; last time I went up to see her, her dog basically sat by my side all evening - it was comforting.

Raining...again.

Trying to see it as a gift from 'the one upstairs' to keep me out of the sun.

Was chilly enough last night for the furnace to kick on!

Body aches are ridiculous! The temptation to just go back to bed and feel sorry for myself is dangerous!

No word yet on the results.

Huge hailstorm here on Tuesday night, with over 6 inches of rain in two hours. There is a state of emergency in my county--we were apparently the ground zero for the storm. We are under a flood warning until Sunday. I had just brought the new-to-me car home, and luckily it was not damaged in the hailstorm. I went and checked the garden yesterday--the low-lying land by the river is flooded, but the garden seems in good shape so far.

My new car is a lovely new-model Soul, with low-miles. It was a lease car for a dealership, returned with damage--apparently a large scratch on one of the lower panels. Since they categorized it as structural damage, it had to be discounted quite heavily. Easily fixed, and I got the car for exactly as much as I wanted to pay.

I have never had a car this new before--I am a poor girl from way back. I already have my bumper stickers--am waiting for a dry day to put them on.

In a lot of pain from the weather--my normal painkillers are not even touching it. Calgon take me away.

Myself...what a relief that the garden and the car were spared damage from the storm! Nature can be so 'disheartening'...my neighbor has suffered more deer damage! She had sprayed a preventative, but all of the rain the past few days washed away what was there and the deer took the first opportunity to 'sample' her flower plants! The 'good news' is that many of them have not set flower buds yet and the nibbling did not damage the plants to the extent they won't recover.

Your long awaited 'new' car sounds absolutely wonderful! I've never owned a 'brand new car' either and I'm so happy yours is what you hoped for!

Thanks Pitmom--it really is very exciting if weird. Every time I get in to go somewhere, it feels surreal. I can't wait to turn 30,000 miles.

I have damaged a few seedlings this year, and it is so cool to watch the plants revive and regrow. One pepper got snapped, but regrew, and now has flowers, right on schedule.

It looks like the rain may be ending, finally. The rivers are supposed to peak tonight, well over flood stage. I have my summer squash ready to plant.--but want to give it a few days to dry out.

Only someone who has loved and lost a pet understands, Karen.

Guess what? I have little wee peppers on a pepper plant in my garden! It is an Italian frying pepper, a Jimmy Nardello, and they have been hardy and durable ever since I started them as seeds. They grew faster than the other peppers, and now have 5 peppers and just as many more blooms.

The water and now the heat are what the garden requires. We have been at 90 both yesterday and today.

For those that garden, this will amuse you. I decided to plant vegetable amaranth this year. I followed the directions and planted the seeds in a small area in my garden. Apparently, I didn't cover the small seeds well enough, or a big wind kicked up. Anyway, the amaranth never came up where I planted it. Instead, I have been pulling these unfamiliar weeds for two weeks. Yeah, it was the amaranth. So, I replanted the spot, and covered it with burlap to ensure it will germinate in place. **grins**
