Hello all: on it since August 2nd and then increased my Lexapro to the therapeutic dose two weeks ago, 20mg. I am not seeing much movement in the depression or anxiety yet. Anyone with experience who can advise?

I never took Lexapro before, but it usually takes 6-8 weeks for an antidepressant to kick in.

Have you spoken to your doctor about it?

Yes, I am under doctors care with a follow up appointment scheduled in two weeks. She reiterates what the pamphlet states. I have been on for over 6 weeks with 2 weeks on 20mg. I realize everyone handles meds differently but was hoping for some real stories to give me some hope .

Hopefully, someone who's taken Lexapro will chime in.

One of my good friends is taking it and has been on it for many years. However, as you said, medication affect everyone differently. I went through various medications with didn't work for me.

I was taking a small dose along with 100mg of pristiq. 5 mg lexapro. I felt pretty good on it, just had side effects that did not go away until I stopped it.

But like you say, everybody is different. I hope it works well for you.
