Pushing through a rough depression. You know, sleep, not wanting to get up. But i do. If i don't, well then i am stuffed. So much happening, it'd tough as i wish i was more enthused. I am but the head is kicking my butt.
Await blood results. It's like i need ten red bulls to push me on. I mean i do my stuff, just lost a lot of zest, that's the crash associated with the disorder i live with. Will keep strong. HT

Well, after all the hoopla of a giant snow storm, I only got 20 inches. Not the 5 footer we were expecting. Getting 5 feet would have been dramatic, giving me a little dopamine hit, but oh well.

I took my Christmas tree down yesterday because one section of lights went out and it looked funky. I put out my Easter decorations yesterday day also, so I guess it was time for the tree to come down.

My birthday is tomorrow - 62. I will be working and we will go out to dinner next weekend. I still feel 35, most of the time.

Good for you, Jamie, getting out of bed when you don't want to. One foot in front of the other...

I actually have a garden report! One of my succulents is sending up a flower - I think it's a type of aloe, but I'm not sure. The other succulents are still alive.

Sending lots of birthday wishes to Buena... your way ahead of me my tree is always up. To hard to get back down . A couple yrs ago I purchased a fake pre-lit 12’ tree and it’s so heavy my poor knees and hips can’t keep crawling up and down the two story ladder to take it down. So we have it up all year and change decor according to the holidays. Will set up Easter decor... cute lil robbin eggs ...bunny ... carrots and the Easter ribbons.

My friend had hip joint replacement four years ago it failed then she had a revision done by second surgeon and it failed. She has been on Walker for almost 4 years. I am so angry with the surgeons in this town I went thru the same thing. It took 6 years to get a revision and off the pain train and had to give up traveling as my hubs went into kidney failure by the end of the 6 years. I had to hire a lawyer to help get a revision needed that took two years to heal. I am trying to help my friend find a solution she has seen my revision surgeon and hoping she can find peace and pain free life once her new hip is in place provided the old surgeries have not left serious damage. I was involved in a manufacturer recall it involved 300,000 patients across the US.
I was in more pain after hip replacement surgery and had cobalt blood poisoning,metalliosis, pseudo tumors from metal particles of metal in my blood. Just a few of the issues many suffer from ill implants by surgeons who are not qualified.

Enjoying the warmer weather the past few days. We had a beauty here yesterday and today , lots of sunshine. And Roxie the border collie was constantly pushing her recorded button that says , Run, Run, Run” . Perfect for running around the pastures and a lovely day outside avoiding all of the in-home tasks I have on my perpetual list...

Pitmom get clump bamboo it stays where it’s planted. I have a clump black bamboo it’s a nice curtain and stems turn black the second year with green leaves.it’s only 15’ tall. Others et 30-40 ft tall. And if not a clump then bamboos can travel across yards and end up everywhere and very hard to eliminate. They will take over the whole yard. Your yard sounds like it’s full of color.

Mowed the lawns and hoping it won’t rain so I can get the tractor out and mow the pastures.
The tulips , narcissis, bell flowers, are blooming along with the icy pink flowers of daphne and laropetalum. Put all the spent amaryllis bulbs in pots outside it’s finally warm enough

GreenBeans...congrats on the vaccine I got my first shot SATURDAY...OMG waited in car in lines for almost 4 hours. I am so sore from sitting that long...next one is in April. 33% of the population has had at least one shot of the covid vaccine. We are getting there👍🤞.

Karen I have ordered a few new plants that are deer proof.. will plant in some hibiscus plants in bare areas left from the deer and gophers. Gophers love the dahlia tubers so no more dahlias. Hope to plant some lettuce , nothing like fresh veggies. Any plans for spring plants?

HT your summer is slowly winding down . I would imagine your gardens are beautiful. Any fav plants you like .. do hydrangeas do well in shade there? They are a staple here in my zone 8B.

Pitmom... I’m with you on the down sizing of the garden. I have 2 acres and started down sizing a couple years ago. Had a lot of help from the deer and gophers. I have a huge gopher and mole / vole issue.

A rainy overcast day ... nice day to catch up on my list of cleaning .

Hello all. Sorry I didn't see the birthday announcement...hope it was a happy, special day!

I've lost track of the plants that didn't come back. Once in a while, the deer will cross the street and nibble my hostas or sunflowers, but they avoid my yard. I think they smell the dogs. I used to have a resident groundhog that would terrorize my veggie patch and eat my mums, too! I poured concrete in the holes on this side of the house and I guess he got tired of redigging and found other lodgings. My cat, Ku-Ku, rid my lot (and several others) of the voles that used to live back here. She was quite the hunter in her day! Lucky has taken over the chore for us.

No plant is 'pest proof'...a hungry animal will eat just about anything if it's hungry enough. The 'trick' is to plant a border of things they don't like...daffodils/hellebores should be included for the early Spring...then other plants they tend to avoid mixed into the border, so they have no 'good reason' to venture further. Place any delectable plants within the center of the yard, after getting the border established along the property line, and they should do fine. I've seen quite a few yards around here with stakes and fencing protecting peonies and dahlias in their own 'island' areas. Once the flowers are in bloom, the eye hardly notices the fencing (which must be very tall). Tasty bulbs, like tulip, can be planted in cages made of chicken wire and hot pepper flakes added to the soil before refilling the holes. Planting daff bulbs inside a ring of tulips can also help keep rodents from digging them up. Different bulbs can bloom at different times...early, mid season, or late season. As these creatures usually set their grazing patterns early, having the early and mid season daffs in abundance can sometimes be all that's needed to keep the deer from thinking your yard has anything to offer all season!

Just realized I mis-spoke...plant the tulip bulbs within a ring of daffodils! Not the other way around! oops!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I have been celebrating all week long. My son took me out to lunch today and put up with me doodling around in Joann Fabrics.

My deer proof go to's are day lilies, foxglove and lupine . I am going to get some old tires form the local land fill and use them to put lavender and sage plants in. Kind of a mid west thing to do. It will be easier than digging up the area I have in mind and may be helpful with the weeds.

It was a beautiful day today for the first day of spring, but snow is forecast for tomorrow. It snows here every year up until the middle of May, sometimes later, but I still don't like it, even after 30 years.
