Anyone else have this problem? Antidepressants don’t work 2nd time around.

Hi everyone, I know many of us try different antidepressants and sometimes go back on medications we have been on before. I have gone back on Zoloft, Pristiq, Wellbutrin and Trintellix and every time I went back on one of these. They either don’t work at all even though they were working when I stopped them or they work a little bit but anywhere near as well as before, I’ve been in few other antidepressants and am starting to run out of things I can go on. We’ve been trying to get me out of depression for 3 years now. Anyone know what else I could do?

I’m currently on Lexapro 30 mg (10 mg above highest allowable dose) and 150mg Wellbutrin. Was on 300mg but went down to 150mg. Didn’t tell a difference at all going down in dose bc I don’t think it’s working since it’s my 2nd time on it.

My kids need a functioning mom… and a happy mom!

I used to respond well to antidepressants but I’m running out of meds to go on. My hubby, he goes on and off Zoloft, and every time he goes in it, it works well. So he obviously doesn’t have the problem I have.

Would appreciate any advice.

Ketimine does work for many people...
Though you have find a good practicing doc that also has a psych to eval...

For instance.
I have permanent inbalance of the brain due to # of yrs if extended trauma. So Ketimine,at this time would be a waste.

Hi! I have read about Ketamine… thank you for mentioning that. I actually researched that bc I’m on opioid medication and wanted to reset my receptors so I can take weaker medications but I also read it’s good for ptsd which I deal with as well. Only thing I worry about whether it will work for me is that my depression is caused by Lyme disease and the illness is affecting my neurotransmitters.

I’ve also read about another treatment. You go for daily treatments. Some kind of brain stimulation. Forget what it’s called. Supposedly it helps and is good for depression treatment resistant patients. The hard part is having to go for treatments Mon-Fri.for several weeks.
