Anxiety through the roof! I just been told need dentures.

I'm in a panic mode I'm losing sleep and not eating. I'm a 58-year-old male and although I'm a candidate for an implant I cannot afford it and it would totally bankrupt me. I'm here to find out if theres a light at the end of the tunnel because right now it's pretty dark where I'm at.

I'm sorry you have to go through this. I understand how you feel as I had to get dental work a while ago, but I had no insurance.

I know some places offer loans for dental care whichbI did for my dental work. Do you have any dental clinics/schools in your area? They may be able to offer you a cheaper rate depending on your income.

I was going suggest the dental universities also.

I have a friend who had the bottom done last year.
Getting top done next month

You do not have to have it all done at once

HI HAD ALL MINE OUT AWHILE AGO, NOT SO GOOD CIRCUMSTANCES, IN THE END
A CHARITY AND THE GOVERNMENT HELPED. WELL, YES GOT A FULL SET, DID NOT
WORK FOR ME, AT ALL; HOWEVER WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT; THE CRUX IS PEOPLE NEVER KNEW
THAT I HAD NO TEETH, ESPECIALLY AFTER A MONTH I NO LONGER USED THEM; WHICH IS FUNNY AS THEY NEVER SAT, SO TO SPEAK LOL. TO THIS DAY NOBODY NOTICES. 10 YEARS LATER.
YEAH I GET YOUR SITUATION THOUGH.
I AM IN AUSTRALIA, NOT SURE WERE YA FROM, HOWEVER CHARITIES ARE A GOOD STARTER,
ESPECIALLY HAVING CONTACTS WITH DENTAL SCHOOLS, AND FINAL YEAR STUDENTS WHO
DO GOOD WORK, WATCHED AND UNDER THE TUTALEGE OF A PROFESSOR. WE HAVE A DENTAL SCHOOL IN MELBOURNE, FREE, MAYBE THIS SORT OF INFO MAY HELP. YES UNI'S AS WELL.
DENTAL CLINICS DO HAVE STUDENTS IN PLACEMENT, AND LOVE TO TRAIN, AND YOU MIGHT BE A GREAT CANDIDATE.

For some reason, I thought health and dental care in Australia were free.

Here in the US it sucks. Have to pay for everything.

YES, MEDICARE, YES PUBLIC, DENTAL, NOT MUCH ON THE FREE!
PUBLIC EQUALS WAIT -HOSPITALS, AND OTHER SUCH- (SURGERY) YES A LOT OF GP'S BULK BILL, BUT IT IS LESSENING. A LOT OF SPECIALISTS CHARGE A GAP, MOST. ALL PSYCHIATRISTS
CHARGE A GAP, A LOT A FULL FEE ONLY. BUT A WAIT IS VERY COMMON. PUBLIC SUPPORT IS DIFFICULT, AND MINIMAL UNDER MEDICARE, 12 SESSIONS A YEAR. I AM FORTUNATE BEING ON THE NDIS.

YEAH, THE HOSPITAL SYSTEM. PUBLIC IS FREE, BUT AS STATED, IT CAN BE A DIFFICULT THING AS WELL. YEAH....................HT

Having regular dentures isn't all that bad for some. I have had dentures for 30 years. I am used to them though.

They are much cheaper than implants. I wear my top denture all the time. The bottom is another story. I got self conscious about them and didn't wear for awhile so they don't fit me now. I have faith that they can be fixed so they will fit.

So try not to feel all is lost. I think you could get used to dentures. I think you would like them.

Thank you all for your encouraging messages sorry for the delay in my response but I'm still in the thick of it trying to make my decision but your messages help bring some light to the situation. I'm looking into financing my implants I'm going to start with the top first its very expensive but I'm working on a budget that I can comfortably pay off monthly for the next 5-10 yrs eek!!! but hey my health is worth this investment. Again thank you all !!!
