Hi Beckisue, I wanted to welcome you to Healing Well forum, we are happy to have you. I have had depression, anxiety/panic and PTSD for many years and done very well on antidepressants. There have been a few that didnt work for me at all and that I had bad reactions to but not all meds work for everyone. In reading your post I see that you have a diagnosis of depression and have been on many medications that didnt work long term. That would be a sign that perhaps you are what is known as treatment resistant. Meaning that the meds do work for short periods of time then lose their effect as they build up quickly in your body...it is your body chemicals that is fighting off the antidepressants basically. Granted I am not a doctor and am not diagnosing you here...just giving you an idea to research and maybe take to your doctor before you get saddled with a diagnosis of BP.
If your thinking of going off the meds be very careful and do this under your doctor supervision as there are side effects of do so. I havent been able to manage my depression for more than a year without medication but there are many who through careful diet, exercise, and meditation are able to balance themselves. I am sure you will get some positive responses to your post regarding this. Please do feel free to continue to post here this is a wonderful site for information and support. Take care and keep us posted...
