drinking and citalopram

hi all, just another curious question, i have read that people aften do drink alcohol on anti depressents and i did the other night and noticed no real difference, my question is concerned with the effects it may have on my body. ie is it actually bad for my kidneys, liver to do this?? ie is the damage that alcohol causes multiplied by mixing the drugs?? many thanks for any responses

Welcome to the forum,I am glad you found us.
all med companies basically say to stay away from drinking while you are taking anti depressants.
Some meds will lower your immune system to alcohol. Say you only have a couple beers,but you feel as though you have had 4 or 5.
Also,alcohol can lessen the effects of the anti depressant. Now,one more thing. If you are drinking and make the bad mistake of driving,and get pulled over. The anti depressants can make the alcohol points increase.
