My son moved out. My husband leaves me all the time. I feel like I don't have a place in the world anymore.
I'm always alone.

I'm widowed and alone. Tomorrow I'm going to start doing volunteer work at the library. I sure this will help with the loneliness. Hope you find something that will help you. Dee

hey dee - good to see you post here. I think volunteer work is good for getting out of the house and keeping busy. Ghost - are there any groups in your area you can join?

Thanks for replying. I'm looking into some groups, and I have an appt. with my doctor. Sometimes I just feel so alone. I guess I should get out more, but it has been so cold and snowy, it adds to the alone feeling.
How are you? Libraries are peaceful places.

Hi, ghost. This is zinniagirl here, and I know just how you feel. I lost my job two months ago, and I have been feeling isolated and alone ever since. Everybody else goes off to work, but I just stay home. The freezing weather and snow have not helped.

You are not completely alone, however. You can come here. I do hope you keep coming here.

A year and a half ago both my kids left at the same time to go to college. My husband has a busy and demanding job. The thing that we found is that we had to rebuild our relationship and our lives together. When kids leave a big life focus changes for couples. I think it is normal but a little scary to figure it all out. This is a time for you to finally focus on what you want. Do you have interests that you have always wanted to indulge? Check with local colleges about classes. Continuing Ed classes don't have tests but are fabulous ways to meet people with common interests. I am a big believer in community service and volunteering is a great way to find new interests and outlooks. When you say that your husband leaves you all the time is that as in leaves to seperate or leaves because he is going to work. There is a difference and it is important to see that. If he is leaving because he goes to work, it isn't fair to hold that against him. If he is leaving to seperate than put a plan in place for building your life. Be strong, you can do it!

Hi ghost..

I was wondering if there was something that you would really like to do in your life and haven't been able to because of children etc.?

Empty nests are hard to fill for a while I know..but I think we come to the realisation that it's now 'our' time to live :-)

I think you have come to a crossroad in your life path...and that always makes life interesting..because now you have choices..I wish you well in yours.

Haven't been online, my computer had a virus.
I'll find things to fill my life again, I've just had some down days. Thanks guys.

When I have a down day.......I try to remember how 'good' my good days are. That helps sometimes.
